This worked perfectly... slightly tight, but perfect for our Samsung Frame TV install. It fit the AV box and excess cables. We used the template that came with it to cut a hold in our wall behind the TV mount location. The TV mount did have to block the box, due to the size of the TV vs. mount location options, so the mount will need to be removed if we ever need to access the box contents beyond. So far so good though!

Perfect J box for camera or computer racks

I replaced a massive case which had been installed in my house when it was built 20 years ago, which was supposed to be future proof. It was over 24” tall and stuck out of the wall almost 4”. It turns out it wasn’t so future proof after all. There was only one coaxial cable in there and an electrical outlet, since I don’t have a phone landline or cable TV anymore. This case could have handled more a lot more, but I did not need it. I did have to patch up the massive hole left behind, which cost about $30 worth of materials, but so worth it in the end.

Worked perfectly! Used this for mounting a Frame tv and it made it all work flawlessly while looking clean and great. Highly recommend!

Perfect in-wall system for containing wires. I bought the matching duplex outlet that attaches to the inside, works perfectly. I have 2 HDMI, 6 speaker, and 2 Ethernet cables, along with a gigabit switch, all contained within the box. Looks much better than having the wires lying on the floor.

I'll start by saying that I have not installed the box yet but I am happy with the quality that I see out of the box. I am writing this review to address the main concern that I had after reading existing reviews regarding its ability to support a standard metal outlet box to provide power to your devices. Many reviewers complained that the holes of the Legrand Media Box did not line up with the electrical boxes whether purchased at a home improvement store or even when buying it with Legrand's own outlet box accessory. I will confirm that the holes in this media box are not quite standard and did not line up with any of the metal boxes sold at Home Depot. However, there is actually a very easy fix for this. As you can see from my photos, the brackets on the metal box from Home Depot are screwed onto the box. This allowed me to put some washers underneath it to extend the length of the brackets and get them to line up exactly. It took a stack of 3 washers on one side and 2 washers on the other to get them to line up. I also had to add buy some 8-32x3/8" round machine screws from Home Depot to replace the short ones that were originally holding the brackets in place. As you can see from the pictures, an 8-32x1/4" screw would probably stick into the box less and be the better choice. Anyway, I wanted to let people know that they need not worry about putting their own metal electrical box in place as long as you buy one with removable brackets like I did from Home Depot.

These boxes are awesome. I used it to fit a fiber ONT, UniFi 8 port POE lite switch, and UniFi cloud gateway max. The knockouts for outlet boxes fit standard METAL 2x3 inch switch boxes of your choice of depth. Use #6 sheet metal screws to secure. The plastic zip boxes do not work. Also, it is equipped with knockouts that fit 1.5” or 1” conduit.

Just wanted to write about this product. Even though it says it’s 9” it’s considered bigger then you expect. Double check the size in the description before purchasing. If you are planning on installing it behind your tv and within the mount, it might still be too big to fit between the mounts arms. I wish they had a smaller size as it would be a perfect product for that application. Not much else on the market quite like this. I really wanted something like this to have a media box inside it and a faceplate to keep it tidy looking when the tv is pulled out as I wasn’t planning on having any cabinets near the tv. I ended up using the datacom recessed box instead. Smaller but still room for a media device but no face plate.

Don’t buy this if you live in Australia — it’s most likely too deep for your walls, and it’ll end up in landfill. Ask me how I know…
