Excellent Wireless Companion
I am a huge fan of wireless input devices, and I have to say that this is the best I've used yet. The mouse gets great resolution and the keyboard keys are very easy to type on. All the shortcut keys are programmable and helpful. Working range is, I think, at least ten feet. I cannot get far enough away in my bedroom for the mouse to stop working. The only complaint is that the mouse drivers have gone nuts a few times while playing games, but I think that moving the receiver away from other electronics has solved that problem. I paid $50 for this set and I believe it to be well worth the money. After having the set for over 3 years, the mouse has started acting funny. It tends to click on occasions when I don't click, and not click when I do. I think it's just from the sheer amount of use it has seen. The keyboard continues to work flawlessly. I am moving my rating down to 4 stars because the mouse is approaching unusable.

Why did Logitech move the keys around
I write programs for a living. This keyboard and mouse are not going to work for me. Too bad I distroyed the packing, durring the unwrapping. I guess I'll give them away to one of my kids. The mouse doesn't work left handed. The "F" Keys are too small.I use the "Insert" key hundreds of times each day and Logitech moved it. (Cntl-Insert to copy into the clip board)I have a belkin KVM switch and use 'Scroll Lock', 'Scroll Lock', to switch between computers. Logitech forces you to use a new key 'F Mode' to click 'Scroll Lock'Usless ChangesThe Insert, Home, End, Delete, Page Up, Page Down, and Scroll Lock keys were moved. That one feature, changes this keyboard from great to junk.

May have to return it
After reading the reviews for this product I thought this is a very nice wireless keyboard and mouse for the money. I ordered it through Amazon and it came quickly. When it arrived it was an absolute snap to set up. Just plug it in and start using it. Initially there was a lag time with typing but it seemed to correct itself and typing was instantaneous on the screen. The mouse was a bit jumpy and sensitive close to the monitor but calmed down nicely when it was moved away a bit from the screen. Everything went smooth for a couple of days. Then all of sudden the keyboard lost it's connection with the computer. None of the keys worked or they worked wrong. Shutting off the computer and rebooting the program worked but only for a short time. After each 15 minutes or so of use the keyboard would lose it's connection again requirering a reboot. Time and time again this happened. I don't know what the defect is in the keyboard but it is not something that should happen. I will call Logitech for support in the morning but if it keeps happening I will return it for a refund and buy another brand.

Decent wireless keyboard and mouse set
I just set up my MX 3000 keyboard and mouse set today and here are my initial impressions. The keyboard:Pros:- Very nice, quiet, big keys. The keyboard has a great feeling to it.- Nice big delete key and no insert key!- Lots of media keys.- Volume dial moves volume in very small increments.Cons:- Very noticeable keyboard lag when I type quickly, which is only about 80wpm. This might be a problem for me eventually. For other owners who don't believe me, just mash your keyboard very quickly and suddenly stop. You'll see characters continue to appear after you stop.- Backspace key is noticeably farther away than my old Logitech Elite keyboard. I have to stretch a bit to reach it.- Arrow keys are slightly lower the rest of the keys.- All of these issues may cause problems for touch typists. The mouse:Pros:- Feels just as accurate as any of the other Logitech wireless mice that I've owned over the past couple of years.- Lots of buttons to use.- Supposedly has great battery life and no need to constantly charge or swap batteries.Cons:- The design is different from the MX-700, G5, G7 series of mice. The mouse provides less support at the base of my palm and thumb. Basically, only my fingers are resting on the mouse, the rest of my hand is arched above the mouse.- The back of the mouse doesn't have any feet or skates so the mouse will tip backwards slightly when I pull back on the mouse. Conclusion: As I finish up this review, I think I'm going to return this set to Amazon once again. The keyboard lagged as I typed out this review. The mouse wasn't very comfortable to use. It's definitely not performing up to my standards.

MX3000 Cordless Keyboard & Mouse
The Logitech MX3000 Cordless keyboard & mouse is basically a good product. My old cordless combination died... I won't go corded again... This is the replacement I saw on Amazon while searching through Google... And at a pretty good price and free shipping...I personally don't go for, nor need, the "F-Keys" and the "Media-keys". I do like the "scroll and go back" functions on the left hand side of the keyboard. The touch of the keys on the keyboard only takes a couple of days getting used to and it almost seems as if the keys are either smaller or closer together. I do like the physical characteristics and feel of the mouse. My husband likes the bigger, but not huge, multi-option mouse. In the future I will go to a store to physically look at and touch my next purchase. But, that in no way means this is a bad product. Again this is bascically a good product and is worthy of the rated 4 stars.
