Great for travel and colder weather, and a bargain!
I purchased these for a February trip to Paris where I would be walking outdoors in chilly weather for many hours at a time. These are GREAT SOCKS! Not the highest compression, but enough to be effective without being uncomfortable. The wool makes them warmer than my other compression socks and my feet did not sweat in my boots. You cannot beat the price. The black are sized smaller than the cream color ones, which I also purchased. It was not a big deal for me, since the compression was not for medical purposes, but more for comfort. I love the cream ones too. I bought 3 of each color. A great Amazon find! Highly recommend!

Wool blend that does a good job of compressing as well as layering
I am a fan of wool socks. I wear them all year long. I found that in the warm summer months, my feet never feel clammy from perspiration--sure my feet sweat, but the nature of the wool fabric really does wick away the moisture.Recently I was advised to acquire some compression socks. Most of what I was seeing is made entirely of synthetic fibers and I just know that sort of fabric will make my feet feel wet all the time. NO THANK YOU.I found these socks with their blend of wool and some other synthetic fibers and decided to give them a shot. To cut to the chase, I just ordered several more pairs of these socks, because they really do meet my expectations.I have worn and washed the socks several times now and it appears to me they will retain their elasticity and compression quality. The socks a woven fairly thin---similar thickness as dress socks, slightly more thick than typical liner socks for hiking. I feel like the thickness of these socks is thin enough for me to plan to use them underneath other thick socks for cold weather ice hiking and snow shoe adventures. If you go skiing or snowboarding, I expect these socks would be great liner socks for you. When I unpacked the socks, the foot size looked small. The appearance is misleading, because I found them to fit me feet exactly as described in the sizes listed.I can't add anything else. These are worth buying for the sake of use as a wool-blend compression sock if you do not want synthetic fibers or as use as a cold-weather liner sock for outdoor adventures.

Dr. Shams Merino Wool Compression Knee High Socks would be perfect, but too long for petite me
I like the quality of these socks so much! The merino wool is soft and comfy, the compression is just right for me and holds up after many machine washes/line drying. GREAT, sturdy product, but they are just too long from the ankle to the knee for my short legs. I am about 12" from ankle to base of knee. I wish they made different lengths as I'd have 8 pairs. Such a great deal at this price of $9.99. I ended up paying over $22 on sale for another brand, but I like these the best. I bought size small/medium. If your legs are longer than mine (maybe 3" longer?) this is the best sock around!

Warm, lightweight, but don’t stay up
Pros:Warm without bulk - smooth and relatively thinWarm and wicking - not sweat-producingComfortable on putting on - low-profile toe seam and nice level of compressionWide calf bandVery good price-point for nice materialCons (with normal walking, in shoes):Needed frequent adjustmentWouldn’t stay up over timeWorked themselves forward and bunched under toes inside shoes (inconvenient)Worked themselves down into constricting bands around lower legs (defeats purpose and must be adjusted right away)Adjustment fixes this, but again isn’t convenient

Warm socks
These are the perfect winter compression sock. They keep my feet warm ( in Montana snow) even though they are thin. The fit is great, no tightness around my upper calf, and they hold up through the wash. Perfect for me

Great though seems like a different factory run.
An older friend who worked on his feet at a Lowe’s - turned me on to Dr.Sham’s 5-6 years ago.I still have 2 pairs of my original Amazon buy. One is starting to wear.Great compression socks AND great cold weather socks.Have 6 fairly normal pattern designs. Also 3 kind of baseball sock designs - was bizarre when they arrived. This pair was normal!

Absolutely poor quality
These scks do not hold up to mormal wear. I wore the heals out in less than two weeks of on and off use. They were warm at the beginning, but am very disappointed in the overall quality of these socks.
