Useless, only collects some information retropie.co.uk .No tutorials recommendations.Neither includes all emulators .It does not explain how to get better performance in any emulator.Money wasted!

Good quick read.

You can probably stop googling with this guide! Even if you've installed emulators or RetroArch on other platforms, the author concisely covers many of RetroPie's unique setup challenges. He also presents some of the critical shortcut keys and controller acrobatics you'll need to know if you want to configure and sometimes just exit a given emulator since there can be little consistency between them. His reflections on the various systems manage to elevate the documentation into an enjoyably nostalgic narrative too.

I read this book virtual cover-to-cover and really enjoyed it.I've been reading this book and also the "No bull guide to MAME Arcade Builder's Guide" book simultaneously. I find that they really complement each other as this book is a strong primer on the software side of buying the pi kit/setting up RetroPie and the No bull book is good on arcade hardware, controls and cabinet.I just ordered my Raspberry pi kit and am looking forward to building the RetroPie system proscribed here. In time I will build it into a full arcade cabinet.Thanks Matt for writing this.

This does not have how to do config files (which you will need to do, Retropie is not an out of the box solution, it takes tweaking) This does nothing but give you an overview, and nothing beyond the bare basics, which let's be honest if you are attempting this you'll already be fairly technical already I'd hope. There are excellent sources of data online for all of this, mostly free, e.g. herb fargus on youtube has excellent videos on how to do all of this. Retropie also supports Kodi player and natively supports PS controllers.
