Straight up DOES NOT WORK. It's a scam: no signal or power
In fact, upon further investigation, the unit does not receive power from the supplied power cord.The unit itself feels completely hollow, like I was given a plastic square. But no, definitely no signal is or ever will be coming out of this.I highly doubt my unit is a mistake, this is so cheap it's amazing Amazon sells this. But Amazon has been more open to these cheap knockoffs as of late. I guess it's okay to sell a scam product.Don't get this. Get a better quality product, or try getting a scary cable and a scary to HDMI adapter. It's more expensive but it'll work. This thing is a complete scam!

Great product especially at this price. Worked great in connecting my older DVD player to a new HDMI receivers video inputs

I can't believe this is "Amazon's Choice" for such a shoddy item. Many people online that have bought this are either satisfied or disappointed. The main reason being that the product never goes through any sort of QA that some of the others do, like StarTech.com, so they just churn them out in the assembly line and ship them out without testing. The complaints for the ones that do NOT work range from no audio output, color artifacts, scanlines, and extremely slow frame-rate per second, If you want to take a chance on getting a working upscaler with this product, go right ahead, you might have a 50-50 shot. I'll be getting a more expensive StarTech upscaler like I should have in the first place.

Did not work.
I was very upset that this did not work. I wanted to be able to play my Nintendo 64 on my newer tv and the sound came through, but not the video.

Great product
Great item..we live in a camper trailer that has a radio / CD / DVD player combined. When we put in a movie we got sound but no picture. This item totally fixed the problem. Thank you!!

Works, but forces everything to 16:9 ratio.
It works like it's supposed to. I only wish it would keep the 4:3 resolution on my older game consoles. Picture quality on what you do get is very good though.
