Klein Tools 59014 No.14 Step Drill Bit

There are numbers on the side but not correct it says 1/2” but actually it’s 1/4” to get to a full 1/2” knockout size it has to be drilled all the way thru. Other than that it makes 1/2” holes easy

I recently bought a basement floor jack (telescoping metal tube used like a lally column in a basement or garage). The made in China piece of junk had misaligned holes which prevented me from inserting the metal bar used to lock the jack in place. The metal used in the jack is pretty thick and the misaligned hole was too wide for any of my conventional drill bits. I had one of these lying around and decided to give it a try. It cut the hole wider in seconds (like I was drilling through wood rather than steel) and allowed me to insert the metal rod. I didn't have to return the heavy and bulky floor jack because of the modification this tool allowed me to make. I immediately ordered a few more to give as Christmas gifts.

If your looking for a step drill that will outlast the others, this is your bit. Klein never disappoints me. A little more pricy then the others but it's worth it to have something that lasts. I had a cheaper one I used on some alloy steel and just destroyed the bit. Ordered this one which I should have done first and went in to where I deeded and came out looking new. Keep it up klein!
