Perfect!
I bought this looking for a book stand for my bedroom. I had limited space and I had been to several stores and wasn't lucky with the dimmensions I needed. this corner shelf from Casual Home was very reasonably priced, at $41 and it fit the area I needed. Plus, it's really stylish.I got the box a few days later and I cringed because I had working all day long in a high school, I had my first theater meeting with rowdy crew kids, I then had a doctors appointment and got stuck in traffic. I was exhausted and I really, really, didn't feel like assembling this shelf, but I wanted to put it up. I reluctantly opened the box and pulled it out and I was so excited and shocked to see it's a folding shelf!!!! NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED!!!!!Well, no, I did have to screw in the small foot at the bottom, but it was already set up, you just put it in it's place and turn. Then I had to push little rubber stoppers in three holes in the top and place the top shelf on top. It took me 5 minutes. I was so thankful!! Best part of this story: It looks amazing in my bedroom and it fits many, many books!! Perfect. Thank you!!

Do not buy from CASUAL HOME!
Amazing - I bought a corner shelf unit from Casual Home. Kept it for over a month while finishing home project before attempting to put it together (my bad). Realized that it's SUPPOSED to be pre-assembled but my shelf unit was in 2 large pieces (one w/shelves attached; the other side of the unit just separate). No hardware, of course, since this was supposed to be pre-assembled. All you have to do is attach a short leg in the front (which was MISSING!) and the shelf on top (which pops on top of dowels).Amazon's site says to contact Casual Home if there are any "missing/defective parts" or other issues. I called them and was told they could not send me any missing parts other than hardware! (no "wood" pieces!) And the problem of the unit not being fully assembled? They basically told me to contact Amazon -- not THEIR problem! What a terrible company.I did call Amazon who very kindly honored my refund (despite it being way past 30-day window) and also expressed shock since it clearly instructs buyers to call Casual Home with any issues. Amazon was the hero here, they resolved everything but Casual Home should be ashamed of their so-called "customer service"!

Nice looking and functional
Bought one white wood and one natural wood and they both look great. I think the price was reasonable. Packing provided excellent protection with plenty of Styrofoam padding, but still easy to open. Very minimal "assembly" - actually just screw in a front support leg and place the top shelf on some short pegs. Rated at 4 rather than 5 stars because the white one had a shelf support that had the screw in slightly the wrong place. I had to take out the single screw, drill a small hole adjacent to the original one and re-attach the support. 2 minute job, but if I didn't have a drill handy it would have been a problem.

Very small and a little hard to assemble, but otherwise beautiful
I actually really love this sweet little corner shelf. I did have some initial frustrations with it, however, but fortunately I'm going to make it work. First frustration is that the color I ordered, "Honey Oak," appears much darker in the online photo than it does in person. Meaning, when it arrived I was surprised by how light it was. I would call it an orangish light brown. By happy coincidence it actually matches the wood in our living room area better than I would have expected, so with my first surprise relieved I went on to putting it together...The bookcase will arrive mostly assembled, and even the most basic of dunces will be able to fit the top on and screw on the extra leg and stabilizing screw to make it secure. That is only IF the holes drilled into the top match the pegs that they are supposed to just "pop in" on the bookcase (directions being quoted here). Ours were not aligned, and I was pretty certain that I would have to send it back, but with some squeezing of one side towards the other and forceful maneuvering I was finally able to wedge it on and hammer the top down. I'm not sure how easily it will be to get it off, but as an environmentalist I wanted to make it work since I figured it would get thrown out otherwise, and I wanted to salvage it if I could. It's definitely secure now, as it's wedged on so tightly, but a note to the manufacturer: make sure that your drilled holes are matching up with your pegs before shipment.Last complaint, which is really my fault as I should have measured (duh), but the shelf is much smaller than I realized it would be. At widest it's probably a foot. The small footprint will do nicely as a plant stand or a place for photos, knick-knacks, or necessities that you want to keep near a door (like a dog leash, etc). Don't expect to get a lot of use out of it - this is more for mild/minor function and aesthetic purposes, IMO.All this being said I actually gave it three stars because the wood color just glows, and the craftsmanship is very good (other than the problem that I had with the shelf top, there are no other problems and it seems very secure and balanced). I'm going to keep it and am ultimately happy with the purchase.

Nice, solid pine wood (updated):
The finish has no tint to it at all, and it appears to be completely natural. I do wish the pine had just an ever so slightly darker shade to it, but it is okay. Fairly well made and not flimsy. I did not use the hardware to (1) attach the corner bookshelf to the wall, and (2) to secure the bottom shelf so that the bottom of the corner bookshelf cannot move or flex (the same as the very top shelf does for the top without hardware)--I just didn't think it was necessary. The individual shelves themselves keep it from moving, and I am putting very little weight on them. I live alone, so, there is no one to mess with them. Actually, the corners where I put these 2 corner bookshelves don't get very much natural light during the day, so they still match the rest of my light or natural colored furniture. For the money, I am pleased--thumbs up. UPDATE: My baseboard (sticking out a bit from the wall) prevents the corner bookshelf from sitting snugly in the corner against the wall by about an inch. "But, maybe you don't want it touching your nicely painted or papered wall, anyway."

Perfect for that tiny space!
Bought this for a tiny nook/corner in our furnace room where network gear needs to live. This little shelf is now holding 2 routers, a wireless gateway and a 13 inch laptop server. It does its job fine, although I'm not sure I would trust it in a high traffic area, as it is by its very design a top-heavy disaster waiting to happen. For this reason I have the heaviest item on the bottom shelf (laptop). If I give this shelf a slight push it WILL fall flat on its face, but since its in the furnace room, the only way that will happen is if we have an earthquake. The material quality is great for the price. Its actual stained and prepared grained wood, not some textured particle board. Aside from the top heavy nature of it it is actually a top quality shelf and definitely worth the price.

Disappointed
Came out from package with lots of styrofoam stuck on it. Very difficult to remove, tried lots of kinds of chemicals to remove it, tried scraping it, but no luck. It looks disgusting and not very happy with my purchase. I will throw this out, don't buy this garbage.

Don't forget the extra leg
Cute little corner shelf. Thought it was a bit unsteady at first, then I found the extra screw-in leg for the front which made a huge difference. The shelves aren't big enough to hold very much but it was just what I wanted.

top shelf doesnt sit properly
The top shelf doesnt sit properly due to the pegs ontop not being evenly matched. Also, the furniture was covered in fibreglass which was very concerning.

Excellent little shelving unit
Excellent little shelving unit for the price. We are using this for all of the dog treats for our special girl.
