Could not put down!
This book had me from the start! It is a compelling read which is totally believable and relatable. Great for women over the age of forty and want to read a book that has depth and reflects the twists and turns of life. I can honestly say it is one of the best books I have ever read. If you want to absorb yourself in a book, and have time to binge read, then this is the book for you! I’m warning you though once you start it’s very hard to put down! Enjoy the journey!

Delightful light read
What a lovely read this was. A story where the characters draw you in from the first chapter and immerse you in the details of their friendship and their marriages.

Amazing story
The characters are all interesting, even though there are quite a lot of them and their families. Very moving the way the story moves on through the year, and I was sorry when it finished. Probably the most emotional book I have read this year.

Too long but an entertaining story
3.5 stars. There was a lot that I enjoyed about this book. Mainly, the realistic way marriage was portrayed and the drama that unfolds in the plot.Having said that, this book did not need to be just under 500 pages long. It also did not need such a big cast of characters. It consists of 6 couples, their children and step-children which were way too many characters to keep track of. My heart sank when I opened the book and saw the character list at the front (never a good sign in my experience). Half the couples had no development or purpose at all so omitting them would not have changed the plot at all and could have reduced the length of the book considerably. However there was enough entertainment to keep me reading. The secrecy of the affair followed by the fall out was well written and had soap-opera vibes. The ending was a bit too idealistic for me but it wrapped everything up nicely. This would be a good beach or holiday read which was exactly the reason I bought it in the first place.

Selfish betrayal
This really is an emotional book. Having an affair is one thing but having an affair with the wife or husband of one of your closest friends is the ultimate betrayal. Natalie and Dom start an affair thinking they are each cheating on one person, but when it all comes out they are shocked by the realisation that this affair was a betrayal of not only their respective partners, but also their whole friendship group of twenty-plus years, their now adult children who are life-long friends and most of all their individual family units. The fall-out from a selfish fantasy irrevocably destroys their worlds as they knew it.

Friendship, love and betrayal - an emotionally wonderful read.
Elizabeth Noble has done it again, loved this book from the first page to the last! Beautifully written and an emotionally wonderful read - likable characters who were all somebody that I'd known around the school gate in years gone by. Highly recommended!
