ABUS 83IC/45 Small Format Interchangeable Core Padlock - Core/Cylinder Not Included

This is a high quality lock, not some Master POS. At this price point it will not include a SFIC core, which can cost as much or more than the lock itself. Also, the whole point of SFIC locks is that you supply your own core. The intended customer for this lock already has cores and doesn't want it to come with one -- if it did it'd just be wasted money on something they'd immediately replace anyway. The Z Bar feature means it can be easily converted between key retaining or non retaining, but also means you have to be careful when removing the core not to drop and lose the tiny piece! Overall, a quality product for the intended audience. Otherwise, consider other models of the 83/45. Beware they come in a variety of keyways, and some come zero-bitted (eg, you need a locksmith to key it for you), so do your research and know what you're ordering.

This lock body is really nice, the build quality is great and it works with SFIC lock cores, which is awesome in its own right. It seems to be built tough with considerations to outdoor use, there is drain holes under the shackles for water to come out. It has a very hard shackle and would be harder to cut, the shackle is replaceable. Its heavy and looks nice. Ball bearings to lock the shackle means that it will not be shimable. Overall great lock that you can key to almost any type of lock you want.

Good lock. The ability to change the shackle is very nice - not a lot of other choices in locks with a 6" shackle. Makes for a good gun lock. Other than the shackle change feature, I don't see anything better about this fancy Abus lock than some other cheaper brands of the exact same thing. In fact, Abus SFIC locks are kind of annoying because when the core of the lock is removed, all of the guts can easily fall out. If you aren't familiar with how it is put together you won't be able to put it all back correctly. Other brands of SFIC lock do not have this problem.

Nicely built. Brass so not really high security, but a quality basic lock for indoor use where you need SFIC form factor.

Lock did not come with drivers; can't find the part number for sale to replace the missing parts

Great quality lock. Do recommend. SFIC cores are handy, and more difficult to pick than the majority of master style locks. Lock body is well made, with a dual ball bearing locking mechanism, that means it can't be shimmed open like cheaper locks.

No Core included, so works only as a replacement. Very sturdy.

Solid SFIC brass padlock. Great feature of ability to covert to key retaining to lock. Meaning key must be inserted to lock padlock. These class of padlocks are typically used in commercial applications. Thus, Small Format Interchangeable Core is NOT included. Packaging is a simple paper box. Reviewers who complain about the ABUS 83IC/45 S2 SFIC not including SFIC core are not knowledgeable in regards to these class of padlocks.
