Missing Parts
This brand new item had missing parts. It was for a gift and was very embarrassing when the child opened it to use it and all parts where not there. Tried to get just missing parts ship to me and there was no interest in helping me get the part and make me satisfied with the item. Also tried to contact Disney and they were no help either.

save your money!!!
Go for the easy bake- this thing is awful and the 'cakes' taste awful!!! In addition the mixes are expensive and you can use regular cake mix in the easy bake. got this for my 3 yr old for xmas and have already replaced it with with the easy bake

Cool Bake Oven
My Granddaughter liked the product and that is all I need...It's smaller than it looked from the picture, however I don't find that a problem.

Bad Deal
The oven came with expired food. The oven was very poorly reviewed on on Wallmart website. Everyone claimed it didn't cook.

Good enough for a 3 year old
My daughter was so excited to get an Easy Bake oven but I was hesitant because she is only 4. I saw this on the shelf and decided it was more appropriate. She was excited as ever to mix up her first batch. Pre-cool the oven with ice cubes. In the meantime mix up your batter. The directions are simple- add warm water, stir, portion into cups and "bake". It's important to measure accurately since you are working with such a small amount of mix so you child will need guidance with this. The beaker cup was sufficient to stir the mix but hard for her to scrape the last remaining batter out of the bottom. After the mix is in the cups you place in the oven to ice-bake for 12-15 minutes. The end result is a soft spongy "cake" that looks nothing like the picture on the box. Daughter gladly frosted the cake and ate it even though I could tell she was expecting something a little more like what mommy makes. In the end she said it was fun and delicious and asked if we could do it again tomorrow. So of course we will. I just want her to love the process of cooking, she can learn the details when she's older. Some notes to remember when purchasing this oven....This product is intended for ages 3+. Your older child may be bored and disappointed with it if she already has experience helping in the kitchen. My recommended age range is 3-5.The recipes calls for 3 teaspoon of water. The enclosed spoon is for stirring only, not measuring. It is too much water if you use it to measure. Use a kitchen measuring spoon and measure accurately. This product does not bake in the traditional sense because there is no heat. The product mix has gelatin in it which solidifies at colder temperature, hence the ice. This product will not smooth out and rise as a regular cake will therefore it keeps it's original form. Take home message- smooth your batter on the top else it will look lumpy.I like another reviewers analogy so I will restate, the end product is the love child of cake (flour, sugar, baking powder) and jello (gelatin). Do not expect anything more from this product than it is capable of doing.Even if you don't like the mixes or you are currently out of mixes, your child can still pretend play with this product.Overall it's a cute toy as long as you keep your expectations in check and remember the target age range. I'm sure my daughter will get bored with this toy sooner rather than later but she wanted to buy it with birthday money so I don't care. She'll use it to play with long after she forgets about the spongy cakes.

Great toy, if you know what you're in for!
I was hesitant to open the box when my daughter got it for her 2nd birthday, as I know all the little kiddie baking sets get terrible reviews, so I wanted to be able to return it. But my daughter was clamoring for her magic oven, so I came here to read the reviews. I became more and more determined to return it until I read one review saying to ditch the mixes and just use instant pudding.3 tbsp milk, 1 tbsp instant pudding mix.Well. That sounds easy, fun, and much tastier. And you can still decorate with sprinkles and frosting tubes, if desired! My 2-year-old LOVED the nasty mix it came with. Our first attempt at 'cooking' came out terribly, as I didn't know NOT to use the spoon it came with to measure the water (use a real teaspoon. 3tsp = 1 tbsp if you prefer to try it that way.) And she spilled so much water, I just had to wing it, so I think we used too much. She didn't care. She started eating it as she mixed. The manufacturer says to use hot water (125 degrees I think I read) and to only give it 3 or 4 stirs, as it firms up pretty quickly.Well, try telling a toddler to stop with the fun part! So I let her go nuts with it, and when she was done mixing/eating, we poured the rest into a 'pan' to 'cook' it. It needed a little more water, since she hadn't stirred it very well, and we were at the big dry clump in the center. So I added a random amount of water and we waited for the longest 15 minutes of her little life. She had her nose to that little oven door the whole time. It was still kind of runny after, so I didn't bother making the frosting, and she didn't care anyway. She gobbled it down.So as long as you go into it knowing that the mixes are only tasty to undiscerning palates, and just use it to make instant pudding after the included mixes are used up, it's a worthwhile toy, for the younger crowd. She also uses it to play pretend other times.
