Black & Decker TO1332SBD 4-Slice Toaster Oven

I actually ordered this for my daughter. She had asked for an easy bake oven for her 6th birthday but, after reading a lot of negative reviews, I opted to buy this product instead. For anyone out there interested in baking, young or old, this is a great little appliance to have. I ordered mini donut pans, cupcake pans, and a small square cake pan and they all fit in this perfectly and baked perfectly in about 30 minutes. She enjoys mixing up the ingredients for the cake batter (boxed mix works fine), using a spoon to fill the cupcake cups, and then together we scoot the pan into the preheated toaster oven. The great part of this is the glass window; unlike the easy bake oven, the toaster oven allows to you watch the progress of your food as it cooks. When the oven dings, we scoot the pan back out and allow it to cool before frosting. My 6 year old has made donuts, a cake, and several pita bread pizzas in her toaster oven and they tasted just as good as those made in our regular oven (all without having to heat up the whole house). To make cleanup easier I lined the crumb catching tray with foil before sliding it under the toaster oven rack. I was initially worried about the outside warming up and being dangerous for little hands but after using it several times for about 30 minutes each time I can say that yes it does get warm but it doesn't get burning hot to the touch. There are no fancy bells & whistles here to confuse you. Just a very well-made, straightforward, Toaster Oven that is simple to use and gets the job done, very well! Perfect for singles or couples.Excellent for cooking, or reheating, all types of simple, "fast-food"-type meals e.g. Hot-Dogs, Hamburgers, Chicken Nuggets, one or two Pizza slices, etc. Naturally, this would not, and is not intended to, replace a full-sized oven. Of course, this is excellent, and very accurate, for making toast. Standard sized, square slices of bread, fit best. Round bread, or other odd-shaped, slices may fit snugly and take up more room in the oven. So, use the 4 slice capacity of this oven only as a guide. Your results may vary. You can also bake Muffins and other small (preferably single-serving) items with this. This comes with only one Broil rack (that has only one position..You cannot raise or lower it.) and one Bake-pan. You may want to purchase a standard-sized Toaster Oven pan set along with this to give you more flexibility of use. A removable crumb tray is included. There is also a 30 minute timer, for cooking that needs to be timed, and a "Stay On" feature that allows for longer cooking times, if desired. There is a bell that will sound, but, only when the timer is used. Naturally, the unit WILL NOT turn off automatically if/when the "Stay On" feature is in use. So, use caution, in that case. A note of further caution: This item heats up quickly and can get very hot. So, it is perhaps not a good idea to put, or to store, things directly on top of it that would be touching it. Product Dimensions: 11 x 15.5 x 9 inches ; 2.8 pounds. An instruction manual is included, but, the design is so straight forward as to make it unnecessary. In short, if what you want from a toaster oven such as this is simplicity of use, durability and functionality, then this is the way to go. I'm sure you will be VERY happy with this unit. I am! I got this toaster oven to replace my very advanced Black & Decker Infrawave oven. Those were only being sold for over $100 refurbished or used. I did not want to go that route. I wanted something cheap and reliable to get me by til I could go that route. But with this toaster oven, I don't think I will ever have to save up for a 'better' one! I love it and so does my boyfriend! We've only had it for about a week now and I will update if anything breaks, but here are some Pros & Cons..PROS:Oven baked taste.- Unlike the Infrawave, this heats throughout the food. Just like an oven. Food is hot throughout and food, ie pizza slices, taste how they are when you first order or cook them.Great price!- for $25 and free shipping, this literally cannot be beat. I don't know why anyone would ever pay more!Easy to use.- Knobs are easy to work and figure out. Nothing complicated or confusing.Looks great in any kitchen- The stainless steel look matches my other appliances but this would probably look great in any kitchen.CONSSmall cabin. Fits 2 slices of pizza but nothing else.Tray is too centered, maybe for cooking reasons, but if it was a bit lower it would fit more.That's about it. We love our new toaster oven!
