Finally a price that's appropriate for the system..works great..however like the previous reviewer stated..the filter does need to be adjusted by giving it a good shake while running in a deep bowl with cold water...there is alot of carbon filter material to loosen up..great product

We like our NewAir water cooler and the WAT10W, however it does seem like the price for the replacement filter is high. Our family of five used our first filter for about 10 weeks when the filter became clogged--guess it had reached its limit. Will see how long this one lasts. Looks like it will cost about $150-160 per year for replacement filters. We do not have a water dispenser in our refrigerator, and I'm guessing the cost of filters for that would run about the same.Edited to add: Our second filter lasted four weeks before it began filtering very slowly. Disappointed. Instead of pennies a day, it looks like it will cost us about $1.00 a day, or $365 per year. Will try one more filter, but not sure if we'll keep buying these or not.

What those who are inexperienced with this filter don’t realize is every month or so you need to take the filter out and clean it, shaking the device helps breakup and move the wet carbon inside the filter around and eliminates an clogging you might experience.

This filter will do the job and is based on your usage, not based on the time period advertised. If a filter states 6 months, its based on average use between two people. Not four. Not twenty. Two. It processes 211 gallons of water and then starts to clog up which is an indicator for you to change it. Bought this product as a way of saving money on water delivery and the incovience of filling up bottles of spring water at the grocery store. Our 6 month filter lasted five and a half months (which falls in line with the 211 gallon promise). If your water is dirty, has a lot of contaminants it may clog up sooner. It's all based on how much you use it and how dirty the water is. It is a good product and I highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to save a buck and needs to have the convenience of self filling from you own tap.
