What you need to know before you buy this machine!
Keeping in mind that cannot fairly rate the above because machine is not wholly operational, generally will say scanning seems little slower than would expect and noisy. Print seems relatively dark and crisp.Display is far smaller than expected, with letter keys tiny. Right now, seems fairly responsive, but cannot be sure correct letter is entered because typing does not display the characters, just ****.This is a new model for XEROX, and doesn't feel particularly market ready. The paper does not seem to easily feed for scanning -- but since that feature is not working, cannot determine the quality of the scan. About the only thing presently getting a positive review is the color - white will hide dust & look cleaner. If have to keep this machine, I'll be keeping a dust cover on it full time, however, except when in use, because of the poor design (see below for more details):1. The paper tray is extremely difficult to set widths and length -- you will need to load paper in sections in order to get it under the plastic tabs keeping it in place AND the paper protrudes in the back, exposed to dust, dampness, whatever environmental -- so far from ideal. Other machines, including past IBM copiers, may have paper trays extending away from the machine body, but there was a plastic cover over the tray to keep the paperIn the above picture, it is difficult to see, but beneath the green plastic tabs sits the open paper tray. It protrudes about 3/4" and far more if use legal size paper. I can already envision trying to brush dust off the plastic. The Plastic hinges are also the reason paper cannot just simply be loaded, but must be done in sections - the tabs have a very pronounced curved lip (think inverted, sideways letter "J" so paper must be fitted beneath the curved top -- not horrendous, but annoying, and requires lot more steps, including removing the entire tray to ensure the paper is sitting properly lined up. How long such plastic clips last with real use is difficult to say, but the entire paper tray design hinges on these plastic tabs (length & width), so if they aren't sufficiently sturdy, trouble definitely lies ahead. Given it's supposedly a new product, wonder if they've truly been put to extended use.2. The machine powers off quickly into power save mode. So, you can shut off the power save feature, or use it - and be constantly having to touch the power button to waken the machine. There is adjustment possible, but it seems to be done via the Xerox computer app and for that, have not been able to access way to save any settings yet.3. The Manuals are disasters. The pictures are tiny, thin drawings that display little meaningful information - photographs would work better. There are no straightforward explanations - everything requires jumping from link to link -- and then, likely, you will dead end because whatever steps told to follow just don't work. THIS IS NOT A PLUG & PLAY MACHINE. I consider myself fairly adept at setting up office equipment - my experience with this machine keeps worsening, unbelievably.4. After getting as far as possible, I attempted to contact customer support. Well, unfortunately, it takes at least 1-2 business days after registering the product (which hadn't done, because wasn't sure keeping it, given displeasure over paper feed tray & desire to judge quality of scanning & printing 1st, which couldn't do because set up was so complicated & I was in midst of project with no time to play with uncooperative machinery & unclear directions). So, if you need to use the device because your previous one isn't working, or you have any sort of time deadline -- DO NOT START TRYING to SET THIS UP OR RELY ON THIS B215 Model because set up will be lengthy, complicated & XEROX will not provide the support until their verification team has authenticated the registration. (I was told that these registration problems do not occur if buying from brick or mortar stores. How helpful to know. Thanks for nothing, Xerox)5. So, after several calls to Customer Support, and wasted hours, delayed too long & item cannot be returned -- or, used. And, I was so naively excited that Xerox was producing machines for the home office market!UPDATE: Although the description of the machine says it can be used as a stand alone device & not have to be corrected to a computer, what the description should have said is IN ORDER TO SET UP THIS DEVICE (EVEN DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS) USER MUST LOG INTO A XEROX SYSTEM AND SET ALL THE DEFAULTS THERE. BUT, OF COURSE, WHEN TRY, NOTHING WORKS. A POP UP WINDOW APPEARS ASKING FOR LOG IN INFORMATION & WARNING THAT ENTERED DATA IS NOT SECURE! SO WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO ENTER UNSECURED PASSWORD INFORMATION --- IF HAD ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED?SO, IF YOU FIND THE PRICE ATTRACTIVE & ARE THINKING HOW WONDERFUL XEROX PRODUCTS USED TO BE: be prepared to need a computer to set up this device, make certain to register product 1st and foremost, wait for the confirming email, wait another 24 hours AFTER the confirming email (business days, only) then, print out a configuration report so have as much info as possible, use your phone to take a picture of the back label because you'll need that serial number repeatedly, have lots of time to make lots of calls to customer service...and, then, call again.Xerox really should disclose the set up process requires computer connection AND is dependent on calls to Xerox. If you even try to download the suggested drivers from the website, all that is received is a warning that "you are not an authorized user" and nothing is accessible. I have never had such a frustrating experience trying to merely set up a printer/faxer/scanner. Horrendous,Print quality of Configuration Report is decent, but excuse me if not in the mood to give the one working feature a standing ovation....So, I bought this in late Fall 2020. It is now March, 2021. I was too late on returning because trying to make it WORK (rather than deal with the difficulty of getting It back into the shipping boxes -- out was hard enough!), so am stuck with this monstrosity -- plus the unopened box containing the extra toner cartridge I purchased for my overly optimistic expectations that I would be USING this machine. HA! It has a dust cover over it & I am treating it as an art sculpture - 'Ode to Stupidity,' valued at $330.My loathing for this device grows every day that have to stare at it, while still relying on my expensive business model HP multi-function that won't feed correctly, so no duplex printing saving paper & have to manually put each fax /scan page down on the scanner bed before able to fax or scan documents. So, there is NO lack of motivation to WANT this Xerox product to work -- I just don't have the 50 or 60 hours apparently necessary to deal with phone support to get it working. I can categorically say just copying (about ONLY feature independently working) is painfully slow, makes a slight, annoying squeaking noise as paper slowly feeds & ultimately was SO annoying, I unplugged the machine & gave up trying to figure any use for it.Xerox, do me a favor, refund my money & send me a mailing label so I can return this space taking disaster from littering my home any longer. And, to be very clear, know this machine did not enter the home office market, just littered it.

Could be improved more
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Both my wife and I have worked from home since the start of this pandemic. My wife's works started requiring more printing, so we decided to buy an additional multi functional laser printer to use at home. We also own another small Brother laser printer in our network. After a lengthy research, we decided to buy this Xerox B215DNI printer because of following reasons:1. It is a baby version of our larger Xerox printers at work place.2. It is laser and multi functions because we want to print, copy and scan-to-fax features.3. It is wireless support. After over a week using it, we started to see a few inconveniences and annoyances, so I'd like to share some feedback if we could.First, like many other items, I'd like to start with the PROS:1. It is lightweight.2. It is portable3. It has a touch pad. Our other printer does not have this feature and it was so annoying during the wireless set up without one.4. It is somewhat quiet when printing5. It looks very similar to our Xerox printers at work, so it does have some professional look, but in a smaller and cuter design (per my wife's words)Second, I would like to touch these CONS points:1. During the wifi set up, there was no way to view the wifi's password I keyed in. I have very complicated password, so it would be helpful if there was a way to view my password, so I could confirm my typing. The digital keyboard was to small for my fat fingers to type.2. The digital keyboard was so small to type. It was too tiny for my big fat finger. I wish there was a way to hook up a USB keyboard to use instead. This would be a cool feature for an IT guy like me.3. The Shift (upper arrow key) stayed on when It was enabled. It should reset once I typed a key unless I purposely wanted to set it as a CAPS function.4. We left the printer unused for a few days, and today, at this review writing, i noticed my printing job was stuck in the printer job queue. It turned out my laptop could not find the printer on the network. I troubleshot further, there were a few errors displayed on this printer's touchpad. It reported some error with the DHCP error. Very strange! I alreadyy set it to use static ip and set my router to reserve this IP for printer, so what was this error about. I then went further into the Network setting and attempted to reconfigure it. Here, I ran into a loop of an error which told me to keep trying after 2 minutes. At this point, I decided to unplug the printer, turned it on and reset it.My printer joined the network again and it automatically picked up the jobs and printed my docs. That was 30 minutes of annoyance in this morning.FINAL THOUGHTS: we have 3 Mac laptops (Catalina, Mojave, Sierra), 1 windows 10 desktop and 1 RHEL machine and I am so glad that they all work fine with this printer. I am very happy for this because I read many reviews that this printer used to have issues w/ Mac Catalina version. As of now, I have only used it to print, so I hold my thoughts on the copy and scan features for now and will update more later if I have anything else to share.

Tons of issues, would not recommend
Bought this printer due to other good reviews, but quickly ran into multiple issues:- Not compatible with the latest Mac OS Catalina- Automatically prints a banner page (waste of ink and paper!) and the site to disable this feature was slow and cumbersome- Software outdated (comes with a CD containing software...who uses CDs anymore?), instructions for setup minimal and xerox website non-intuitive and difficult to navigateReturning this immediately. It was satisfying to use it once to print off the return label.

This printer works great - No issues at all.
I was hesitant for some of the reviews, but after installing and using it I don't see the reason for such negative reviews. I have a 2019 Mac Air on Catalina and it worked perfectly. It wakes up to print just fine when saving power. It also has wifi direct - which I didn't use but I did configure it. Touch screen worked fine, maybe I am not so picky having had so many crummy printers in the past. I would say go for it. I even can print from a very old iMac on OSX 10.5 Leopard - which there is no driver for. I used the postscript setup and it prints just fine from it too graphics and all.

Worst Tech Support EVER!!! DOES NOT work with Mac OS Catalina
Xerox does not have the serial numbers for some of their products in their data base, therefore they are unable to provide any tech support. How can a company not have serial numbers for some of their products? As of 12/4/2019 this printer is not compatible with Mac OS Catalina. I called tech support on a different printer I purchased that was in the data base, and they had no idea how to get printer working. Tech support finally told me, the printer is incompatible with Catalina. Before purchasing I would check Xerox's website to make sure they have the supported drivers you need.

B215 - Xerox put out a Mac OS Catalina driver December 2020 for it - BUT IT DOES NOT INSTALL !
I had an excellent Xerox 3225 multifunction, but older model (still sold) and after 6 month Xerox was still evaluating if they would put out a Catalina driver. As of Feb. 2020 they hadn't. I could only print with a USB cable. I use for small home office. No, no scan, impossible to use via my home WIFI. And no EMP ( Manager Print Console). So I checked at Xerox for more recent monochrome printer compatible with Mac OS Catalina. Found the B215. So purchased here.Tried to install the driver package dmg file. Upon installing it said, "this install will use 1,1 mb space on your drive". That didn't make any sense, the file was over 14mb ! In the end, I could print through wifi, but again, that was all. No scan...no EMP (Print manager Console) . Trying to scan in all ways possible, it said "Install scan app"I uninstalled, reinstalled, both in French and English.....to no avail.Contacted Xerox. They ask serial nr. They said they did not recognize the serial nr in their system. So they couldn't help me unless I faxed my Amazon invoice and mention serial nr.After a whole afternoon of frustration trying, and contacting customer service, and even faxing the required invoice....I checked for other printer models compatible with Mac OS catalina.I decided to return for refund the Xerox B215 ! And bought a new HP printer instead, proven for its compatibility to OS Catalina. So Xerox has big problems in customer service, and unrecognized serial nr on their own printers. And then it gts complicated. So, check reviews on line, Google "Best laser monochrome printer for Catalina in 2020". I was able to get good references, reviews, technical info, and all that helped me in making a smart choice.Very disappointed in Xerox service. They have a Mac OS compatibility page on their website. My previous 3225 Workcenter was on the list and itemized #3 which meant "under evaluation for possible Catalina new drivers" and after 6 months..it's still same....no developing news, no updates, yes or no, not possible, etc....We cannot have a useless printer at home 6 months during. Very bad service. Now selling it, barely used 6 months, still on original ink cartridge. My new HP printer will be delivered Friday, direct from HP coz better price with the Honey app ($60 rebate coupon ! )

Xerox B215
Excelente produto!

Very good printer.
We are very satisfied with this printer. It has lots of functions, it's compact and very quiet. Works well on our home network with both Windows and Mac computers.
