Looks like orange paint
I've bought and used Sikkens HLS Plus for over 20 years, sometimes using it as a two coat finish, and sometimes as a base for Sikkens Filter 7 on finer joinery like window frames and doors. It remains translucent so you can see the grain and doesn't create a messy build up with repeated maintenance coats over the years. It should look like runny honey. Even after stirring, this 5 litre tin I ordered from Amazon looks like dirty orange paint - not translucent at all. Others have commented on this too but this is not how this product normally looks. I suspect it has been badly stored (allowed to freeze?) or is a dodgy batch.

The best there is
I have been using this for at least 15 years on decking, sheds, gates and garden furniture, nothing comes close to lasting as long and retaining a good look, including in costal areas. While it is more expensive than other brands, the finish and the length of time it will last you mean you'll need to spend less money and time overall.

I always us this product on my timber decking.
I have used this product for several years and although it is more expensive than other timber staining products it does protect the decking to which it is applied confirmed by water bearing up on the surface after it has been applied.
