Great! Our son loves it. Not really for outside play except on the calmest days.
We got this for my 8 year old for Christmas and he loves it. He has been playing with it constantly for 2 days. This is not really an outdoor toy, it is very light and will get damaged easily in the wind. Perhaps on a really still day it might be ok. It took a little bit for us to get the trim set so it flew correctly (normal for any drone) but it has been terrific! It's easy for him to charge and use himself. It's taken quite a few noisy crashes and hasn't been damaged in any way (including a fall down our stairwell). It's hit the ceiling many times, door frames, the Christmas tree, a basement floor, The noise gets to be a bit much, going all day long (he plays with it constantly whenever it's not charging). But to be expected. Know what you are getting and realize it's not meant for an everyday outside toy, and expect to need some patience teaching a kid how to fly it, and how to adjust the trim.It is actually better than I expected. I hesitated to buy it because of some other reviews, but it was the number one item on our son's list so I grabbed it when it was on sale the week of Thanksgiving and don't regret it at all.

Fragile Ghast, but super fun.
Easy to fly and assemble, but very fragile! Daughter brought it to school and it was accidently stepped on. The entire top part used to fly the ghast came unattached. 8 year old daughter managed to tape it back together herself and still use it. Controller is easy to use. Very lightweight, best used indoors - any breeze would sweep it away outdoors. Gave it a 4 for ease of use and enjoyment - having it better reinforced would make it a 5.

Absolute garbage! Avoid at all costs!
This was purchased for my son (paid $75) as one of his bigger Christmas gifts. What started out as utter excitement as he opened the gift ended with a very disappointed child that was grumpy with Santa for delivering a "broken" toy.I'll start with the good. Amazon shipped on time and the packaging was very good if not excellent. While this wasn't frustration-free packaging, it was incredibly easy to unpack. Bravo! Now the bad. The pairing process is incredibly wonky and frustrating. I closely followed the "destructions" and couldn't get this thing to pair to save my lives. Thinking that it might be me, I had a few other adults also give it a try just in case I was having a moment. Turns out, I wasn't.Hours later, and after some voodoo magic and random button mashing, it finally paired--albeit this was short lived. The unit finally took flight but our joy died three seconds later--NOOOOOO!. The blades stopped and the unit came softly crashing down as if the remote and Ghast were no longer paired.Dusting ourselves off, we once again performed our voodoo in an attempt to fill the air with joy once again. Low and behold, it took flight but, Houston, we had a major malfunction." One blade was inoperable and the craft began to break up (e.g. Crashed into the wall).Defeat! We are done! Game over! We "called Santa" and he helped us with a workshop-return slip. This thing is going back.

It has been enjoyed by him
My 7 year old got this for Christmas. It has been enjoyed by him, his 9 year old brother with watchful guidance by their father. And of course as a minecraft fanatic, he loved zooming a flying ghast around the house. It crashed plenty of times, as all flying toys things do in our house when being controlled by an elementary school child. It seems to have a fly time of about 15-20 minutes, pretty typical of most chargeable items. As to the reviewers who feel it was too delicate and difficult, I do not feel it is that delicate compared to other type of RC flying devices that we have purchased of the years. We have used multiple brands of flying devices including fast lane brand. I find it pretty similar.

A fine example of cost cutting taken too far
Santa sent this as a Christmas present to my daughter who is a huge minecraft fan. And having owned and flown a couple of other RC helicopters, I can say that I would not recommend this. toy to anyone The construction is cheap. It is literally thin cardstock and foam taped together with some motors and a LiPo battery. I cannot imagine how it could be manufactured any cheaper. The bean counters at Mattel truly cut every possible cost. Compare that to the nice metal frame you get on a Syma S107 for about 1/3 the price and it is just shameful. The charging method is poorly implemented as well. I've seen units which plug into the wall. I've seen units that plug directly into a remote. What I have not seen is this method where you have to plug the remote into the wall via USB, and then plug the helicopter into the remote. What a pain! They probably forced this daisy chain method on you to save another few cents per units in profits. Once you do this, then charging takes a ridiculous and painfully slow 3 hours. Now compare that to the cheap s107 which charges in like 15 minutes.Unlike others I didn't have any pairing problems, that at least just worked. I was able to get the thing up and running without much fuss, but this isn't the easiest copter to fly either. The controls are extremely touchy and considering the shoddy construction I cannot imagine this thing would survive more than 1 or 2 crashes. Coupled with the uber sensitive controls you are headed towards a very short-lived $70 thrill. They say this is for kids 8 and older, but most 8 year olds that I know would crash and most likely destroy this thing in no time.It would be much more cost effective (and probably more fun for your young one) to get a cheaper/slower helicopter, some thin cardstock, foam tubes and some hot glue and make your own ghast. You'd save a good chunk of money, have a better toy, and it would look just as professionally done as this thing.

Nope! Just buy a real quadricopter.
SOOOO CHEAP. My son loves it.. but was heartbroken after 1 day. Worked for 1 day then dove straight down every time my son tried to use it. Now waiting on a replacement. Amazon was very helpful about that. I would NEVER buy this again for that price. Maybe $20. But for this price, buy a real drone. I bought two live cam quadricopters for Christmas along with this, paid the same and those are WAY BETTER.
