The Light Between Us: Stories from Heaven. Lessons for the Living.

The Light Between Us chronicles the author's journey from childhood to self-realization as a psychic medium. While Laura Lynne Jackson became aware of her psychic abilities at an early age, and was encouraged by her family - and later, other psychics - to develop them, at times events would happen that would overwhelm her into retreat; the sudden and untimely death of a close childhood friend, of which she mistakenly thought she was supposed to prevent, and years later, being in the proximity of a plane crash and feeling the simultaneous terror of hundreds of people. A love for English literature and a knack for working with teenagers (thanks to her empathetic abilities) gave Jackson teaching to fall back on, and she happily settled into this fulfilling career while starting a family with her new husband. However, the urge to help others with her psychic abilities prevailed, and as she continued to do so, she realized that she could communicate with her clients' departed loved ones in the afterlife, or the Other Side, as Jackson refers to it. She learns that we are all connected to our loved ones through powerful, unbreakable cords of light, and that those on the Other Side remain by our sides, doing what they can to love us and guide us through our lives. Slowly, she gains confidence in her gifts, realizing her powers to help the bereaved, often paying special attention to parents who live with the pain of having lost a child. She is tested by scientists, who determine that her abilities are real. All of this goes on in secret from the faculty and students at the high school where she teaches, in fear that her work as a medium would be at the cost of her much-loved teaching position. When her secret finally comes out, she is met by her colleagues and students with acceptance and love. This book is excellent and worthy of five stars for many reasons: First, Jackson's writing style is clear and concise. The author studied at Oxford and has a degree in English Lit, and is a high school teacher, so basically...this is someone who really, really knows how to communicate in a way that is attention-grabbing and easy to understand, without dumbing anything down. Second, every reading that she recounts has the potential to resonate personally with the reader. If you've ever wondered where your loved ones are after they pass, if they are well, if they are watching you and sending love, and if they feel the love that you send out to them, this is by all means the book for you. Additionally, and very importantly, the author puts a face on a mystical and oft-misunderstood subject that is easy for just about anyone to relate to. This is not surprising, coming from someone who has tapped into the collective consciousness to such a high degree. Many people claim to be psychic, but Laura Lynne Jackson is one who is the real thing, backing up her abilities with proven science. Best of all, she believes (and I agree) that we all have a little bit of psychic in us - we just have to be open to it! She offers a few tips, and the first time that I asked for a sign from the Other Side, I got one within hours. This book affirms everything that I have come to believe over the years about life and death. In a world that currently seems very harsh and bleak on the surface, The Light Between Us will bring the reader a feeling of great hope for humanity. Knowing that there is a place of love and light, full of our loved ones who are rooting for us to be our truest and best possible selves is a great comfort indeed. There are lessons in here for both the believer and the skeptic. Read it, and your very consciousness just might make a change for the much better.

It was a lot about Laura's life and centered around her - but the message and stories are very uplifting. good read.

I loved this book! Laura Lynne’s story about her evolution as a psychic and medium was fascinating. She clearly has a gift and she reminds us that we can call upon our guides and loved ones who have passed. I've had my own experiences that resonate with what she explains and describes. The chapters in Part 3 are especially moving and beautiful - the message that we are never alone and that love is at the center of everything. After my beloved husband died following a plane accident, I discovered that love and hope are the most powerful forces in the universe. I know that my husband guided me to find love again after he died. I found Laura Lynne’s story telling a very compelling way to share the deeper meaning of death and our connection with those on “the other side.” Very well written. My own story of finding inner resilience is to find people who inspire you. The stories in this book will inspire you. It’s a good time to read them, given the current chaotic environment we’re in - to remember love, goodness and continual connection with those who we love.

I was drawn to reading this book after reading Signs The Secret Language of the Universe by Laura Lynne Jackson. The light between us was referenced several times in Signs and was written prior to her writing Signs. While Signs is my favorite Jackson book, probably one of my favorite books of all times, the Light Between Us was a fascinating account of Laura Lynne's journey, her early struggle with her gifts, the path to accreditation, and more. Truly fascinating!

If you’ve ever wondered whether you have “the gift“ or not, you will find this book to be helpful. It has solidified a few things for me personally. And even if you’re not wondering about that, it is still such a positive and helpful message in how to live your life in a more meaningful way. Stay open to all that is good in the world and to the messages that come your way from the other side.

I read this scorchingly fast after adoring “Signs” several years ago. Whimsy made me get it a few days ago and I’ve not put it down. It was affirmations my soul needed. Heck- I didn’t really even think about the concept of being anything but self-taught and guided! Outstanding book! Laura tells incredibly interesting, heart-warming stories of readings she’s done and shares a lot about her life. The way she described her psychic abilities in vivid detail have given me such a better understanding of it. I highly recommend if you’re curious or interested in the metaphysical!

I really enjoyed this book, my second one of hers. It's a memoir of a psychic medium and I loved her down to earth way of grappling with her strange gift over the years. It's a lovely easy read, and very spiritually reassuring. I enjoyed it each night before going to sleep, short chapters, fascinating stories, and validating the world beyond in the most natural, emotionally satisfying way. If you'd like an uplift, please get this book. You'll feel less alone and better about life in general.

Spannend von Anfang bis zum Ende. Ich würde behaupten es hat mir sogar ein bisschen geholfen weniger Angst vor dem Tod zu haben. Ob man wirklich an ein Leben nach dem Tod glaubt oder nicht ist auch ziemlich egal. Interessant ist das Thema auf jeden Fall.

An inspiring book for open minded people. A book that you will read more than once. Amazing and powerful stories.

This book spoke to my soul immediately. I got the short example read the first few lines and I just knew I had to read this book! I havnt cried in a book in such a long time the stories are incredibly heart moving and it just opens you up to a whole new reality. I am a firm believer now, always have been open to the idea but this book puts it into perspective and makes it real. I love the idea of spirit guiding us through electricity and through songs on the radio and the authors journey to becoming a medium was interesting read as well. Loved the book, love to meet the author can’t wait to read the next book!!
