Effective affordable automation
The media could not be loaded. Firstly, I’m glad these are back down to a very reasonable price ( £43.99 as of 27/9/22)!If the price remains the same I’ll definitely be buying some more..( here’s hoping !)Now for people wishing to set these up the easy way I would skip the instructions all the way until you download the app.The app has max and min limits and roller speed all easily adjustable from within the app which saves a lot of guffing around pressing buttons etc.The app is very intuitive and straight forward and also enables you to adjust a few other parameters such as the blind name , winter/ summer settings etc.Adding the blind to the app is straight forward and once you’ve entered the preset Bluetooth pairing code you’re ready to move onto settings.I’ve set my blind motor to operate once in the morning to open at a set time, and secondly in the evening to close again at a set time. For some users wishing to adjust the blind when away from home you may have to purchase a separate hub to allow out of home control but because I’ve set mine to open/close there’s really not much I need worry about after that. You can add more than one timer , so if you wanted your blind partially open , then fully open , then partially closed then finally fully closed you can do that within the app also. For functionality, ease of use and a practical means of automation for roller blinds or other blinds I’d give this my recommendation. It’s far from being the most expensive, and being able to add more than one motor to the app helps keep a sense of uniformity under one roof instead of multiple apps for multiple blind motors etc. Thus far my personal user experience is very satisfactory and the motors perform as expected. These would be ideal of you have hard to reach windows or obstacles in the way of blind operations, either using the controls on the motor or using the app makes using blinds just that little bit easier. Some reviews mention the range of the Bluetooth , I’d say if you were in the same room you shouldn’t have any problems, but if your a room away or maybe further you’ll have to bear in mind that Bluetooth connections would be subject to wall thickness or other environmental obstacles, again generally speaking if your looking for a ‘set & leave’ device , then this fits that function perfectly. The motor does come with a selection of 4 cogged wheels which I would expect one to fit for most blind cord controls so it’s a matter of choosing which one fits your blind cord best. The motor also comes with a solar panel, which keeps the motors internal battery topped up enough for use , however if your using the motor a lot you may have to recharge it using the supplied power supply more frequently, my choice is to leave the supply connected as I’ve a socket close to the window anyway , but this isn’t essential, again this is down to your own usage.Packaging is minimal, a simple cardboard box, with a plastic insert, nothing overly elaborate , and In my opinion your buying a motor not a glorified box to essentially chuck in the bin after , so anyone who’s environmentally conscious this is a helping start. It’s simple, effective, waste conscious.Included in the packaging are a couple of mounting options , a set of screws with wall plugs & a large very strong adhesive double sided sticker.I use the sticker as it’s more than adequate to hold the motor in place against the side of the window reveal and a lot easier to mount. My recommendation is to not have the motor to taught on the cord, this helps reduce wear on the motor, reduces tension on the blind itself and makes operation a little quieter as there’s no stress on the blind bearings also.Point to note, some blinds have the cord that can be too long, this motor requires some distance from the bottom of the cord so if you have a cord that’s to long I’d advise purchasing a shorter cord to allow for the motor to function easier and sit below the motor ( depending on the length of your windows mostly). To summarise ; as per my title .. this is an effective means of automating your window blinds at a very good budget entry price point.Affordable, effective, and easy to use.

EVEN WORSE THAN I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT - Only 'Smart' if you're within 5 meters
!!! EDIT:I made a very poor review originally, now I'm back after more use to try and scrounge some value from the device. This thing is really bad, comically so actually. The solar panel I'm pretty sure does not work, or at least does not provide any real change to the charge.I charged up the motor at the BEGINNING of the WEEKEND and USED it 4 TIMES before this morning I tried to use it and it was OUT OF CHARGE.I have also been in contact with the seller, trying to get one of their hubs to work so I can control the blind from further away and actually have schedules run through it. After buying the hub that they told be to buy, they then told me that I still HAVE to be CLOSE ENOUGH to operate the BLIND with BLUETOOTH WHEN CONTROLLING it THROUGH the HUB.This is honestly one of the worst products I've purchased form Amazon, seriously. Please buy something else.----------- Original Review -----------After trying everything I can with this product, I have come to the conclusion that it's really quite lacking on what you believe you'll get. The device is barely smart as you have to be quite close to use it through the app, and you can't even set schedules for it or pair it with an Alexa etc.The good (please see the bad before purchasing):- Very straight forward to install- Plenty of attachments to work with other types of blinds- Adhesive is strong, and wall mounting options included- Can set upper and lower limits- Can be basically controlled through the app under limited circumstancesThe bad:- Only usable if you are within 5 or so meters without any walls or doors between it- Scheduling the blinds to go up/down at certain times / conditions does not work, they will not respond- This cannot be linked to any smart assistant unless both you have the 'correct' version of this product which you can't tell until after you buy it from the product code on the back, and you buy a hub for an extra 30.- The app 'currently doesn't have the battery level indicator' so you can't ever tell if the battery is low and when to charge it- Unaware of if the solar panel actually works as I have left it plugged in for a day whilst it was sunny when it was dead in the morning and was still dead the next day.Honestly, just spend a little more maybe and go with another product. Anything that is Bluetooth only and can't connect to a hub is a waste for a smart device.

Works but not as expected
Purchased it because it is solar powered (saves running cables everywhere) and description said it could be used with smart assistants like Alexa and Google. Installation was easy enough, plenty of different attachments for the roller blind strings, instructions are clear and illustrated. Tuya app found the device and I could get connected. That is where the simplicity ended. Settings in the app were not showing proper labels, but some programming variable names, there was no way of knowing which parameter did what. Developers clearly did not finish their job. Luckily motor direction, speed, upper and lower limits could all be set manually by following the instructions and pressing the buttons on the device itself. Once that was done the app registered them too.Another problem was that it only works if you are nearby. This is a Bluetooth controlled device so as soon as you walk away with your phone you will not be able to control the blinds anymore (only using buttons on the device itself). It is claimed that if you purchased a separate gateway and link the blind motor to it then it will work with Alexa, etc. I have tried two different gateways and they both found the motor, Alexa then could see the motor too but just like before, as soon as you leave the room the device can no longer be controlled. Alexa keeps on saying device is offline. I have tried all I knew and still could not get it to work. Schedules did not work either as device shows offline unless you are next to it. In the end I had to return it as this is not what I needed or indeed as advertised.
