Beautifully illustrated edition
If you're not familiar with the Lynd Ward woodcuts used to illustrate this edition, or if you're just trying to figure out which edition of Frankenstein to start with (of the many available), this is a great choice. The Lynd Ward woodcuts are beautifully atmospheric and evocative and provide a perfect counterpoint to Shelly's book.

Classic
Light read and an important piece of story telling. Wish I didn’t sleep on Frankenstein back in high-school, but good to read it now!

The perfect match
Mary Shelley's cautionary classic approaches two hundred years old at this writing, and just becomes more relevant with each passing year. Then, seventy five years ago, Lynd Ward added his vivid woodcuts to the narrative. The combination of the two works beautifully.Shelley's novel already deals in stark contrasts, the drawing rooms of England against frozen arctic wastes being only one of contrasts. Woodcut, with its inherently stark contrasts, makes the ideal medium for illustrating that story. More than just the medium itself, Lynd's surreal imagery captures the power, delicacy, and horror of the story's progress. The story endures by being retold for every generation. Lynd contributed to that retelling with his beautiful and expressive imagery. Like Shelley's words, Lynd's woodcuts retain all the power they ever had.-- wiredweird

Better every time
I have read this book several times and it gets better with every read. To think Mary W. Shelley was only 19 when she wrote this.Zach Amazing.

BE ADVISED 1831 ED NO TITLE PAGE
This book is the 1831 edition, after Shelly made edits to the 1818 Edition. The story slightly different and should be considered if reading for academic purposes. Additionally, this kindle book does not have publication information, therefore an accurate works cited page will be difficult to write.

Great for preteen audience
This is a good edition of the story for preteens and young teens. The illustrations are fantastic and drew the reader right in.

Great book - Great classic
Far different from the movie, the issues raised and dialogue are timeless. Mary wrote this classic when she was 19. Using WhisperSync, I listened to the book while driving and read it when relaxing at home. Our book club discussed this book for about two hours uncovering various issues and perspectives.
