You'll be glad you bought it!
Sturdy, high quality build that works very well getting ALL the crap out of my pool. The fine mesh net even picks up the pollen and tiny floating debris so it's clean after one sweep. The warranty is legit and they replaced my net without issue after 2 years when a sharp twig punched a hole in it. Buy once, cry once and have yourself an awesome skimming net for life!

Best rake/skimmer I've ever bought
I've had my pool since 2012, so I've gone through a lot of pool skimmers and rakes. This one is the best I've ever bought, and it's not even close. I got the silt version, and it picks up more small particles than any other net I've owned. It's sturdier with better construction and quality of materials. The net is zipped on, which I thought it might bother me during use. It doesn't, and it makes it so you can replace the net with the lifetime warranty, if necessary. The lip on it is great, too. Better than any net I've had. Makes getting the stuff at the bottom of my four-foot-deep pool much easier. It was also easy to put together. I'm a writer and not at all mechanical. Yet, I was able to assemble it in just a few minutes. You'll need a Phillips-head screwdriver for three screws, and that's it. The one downside is that the exceptional net that allows you to pick up so so many small particles also lets less water through, which means there's a good deal of resistance. I use it by hand, because I skim my pool while I'm in it, so I don't need a pole. However, I think it might be a little challenging if used with a long pole, or if you're elderly or don't have the strength to handle the resistance for whatever reason. Otherwise, I highly recommend it. And I'm giving it a very solid and well-deserved five-stars, despite that I'm harsher on reviews if the product is extra expensive for what it is. This product is worth the additional cost. And for me, the lifetime warranty was a huge selling feature for the price point. I fully intend for this to be the last skimmer I ever buy.

The best pool net ever !!
I bought this net 3 years ago and the net is so fine that works best to pick up fine particles after 3 years the net ripped because is left outside under 114 degrees. So I went to the website and registered for a claim and was approved for a new one and 3 days later a got a new one with a improved design with a zipper on the net. So next time I guess just need the net because the handle is very good still. This product is as good as advertised and the best quality. Never buy another. Is good for ever!!

I Didn't Want to Like This Sand/Silt Pool Net as Much as I DO!!
So let me be clear... while I love getting a good deal on something, and finding prices that can't be denied, I'm actually someone who values doing something right the first time, and spending good money on good, quality products. So despite my ordering this ProTuff 490 Promise pro pool silt/fine mesh net, I was actually hoping I wouldn't like it, if only because the price is so much more notable than most other brands available, that claim to be silt/sand products. Upon opening it, I was a bit perplexed... I've never received a pool net that came in multiple parts, with screws, and zip ties (removeable, as it turns out... I should've watched the videos first!), and zippers... zippers?!?? This seemed (stick with me here) to be one of THE most overly complicated, overly-engineered products ever... I mean, come on, it's a pool net, right?! That being said... I found myself looking for directions (let's be honest, how many of us really go to the directions, especially for something that's supposed to be thrown in the water to get to work). But in this case, I found a QR code, so I did it... I opened the associated video. And in doing so, I found MULTIPLE videos... some quite lengthy, all about how to put this thing together, how to take it apart for warranty claims, how to use it most effectively (refer back to ... it's a pool net?!). I found myself laughing at the extremely detailed-oriented and easy-to-understand videos, by brand reps who clearly know their stuff, and are quite obviously passionate about what they do sell. It was actually quite impressive, and my wanton disdain for this product and it's complexities slowly gave way to an appreciation for just what lengths this brand has gone to in order to help people understand the best use their quality product, and what exactly to do if the world isn't perfect, and you need to take advantage of their 100% no questions asked replacement guarantee. Note: They engineered this thing so you can actually zip off the net (because they do break over time sometimes), you can replace the very well-constructed, durable handle parts, or the stainless steel screws, our the aluminum frame, or the very strong handle pieces. All of it or any particular part of it - all at the company's expense. Now THAT'S a warranty (and according to independent reviews of this product elsewhere, this company apparently DOES live up to every word of their commitment). So after going through all the videos (I was hooked!) it was time to actually try this thing out! The net and handle have some heft to them, more than average, but they're strong and incredibly well-designed, right down to the thingamabob inside that allows the tabs to grab onto your aluminum pole (even that part is covered by warranty AND there's a video for that, too!). This isn't the lightest pole/net combo I've used, but I do have to say, I believe it's the best built, especially for a sand/silt net, which, by their design, need to be much finer than a standard mesh leaf net, but if not well-engineered, can cause extreme pressure when trying to glide these things through the water. This one? They claim to have engineered it in such a way as to definitely pick up sand/silt and small particulate, while reducing the drag so many similar products have. And they HAVE done exactly this!! And done it WELL! I was shocked, quite honestly, at just how well... you couldn't tell by just looking at it, but when you smack this net down across the top of the water of surface skimming, other silt nets I've used (or tried to use) create an air bubble that mostly prevents you from sweeping downwards into the water, due to the extremely dense mesh nylon netting required for sand/silt/dirt. But not this one - first time ever - smack it down (I was intentionally doing it at a more perpendicular angle than I normally would, just to test this)... straight down... the bubble forms, but then you hear this release of air, and it glides down right into the water. Yes, i was exaggerating this motion to test the described engineering, but man, if it isn't there! Amazing! Also, the speed with which this glides through the water is notably faster than other silt nets I've used. It still takes some effort - it has to, given the net density - the even 20-30% less resistance, multiplied by every time you run it through the water - it makes a difference, and a very notable one. The nylon material is extremely well-made, grabs everything even the smallest particulate (DO watch their videos on working smarter, not harder, and using it like a push broom vs scraping along the bottom of the pool... it makes sense). I wanted to not like this product... but turns out... it's everything they claim it is, and then some. So now I'm very pleased to have spent good money on an excellent product, better than anything similar I've ever tried in years of pool ownership and cleaning. All I can say is Well Done - you've convinced me, and I'm not easily convinced. Great product, worth every penny!!

Real deal on the warranty promise!
WOW. Just wow. This company is legit and they donโt make em like this anymore! I bought the 17.5 in. pro pool silt net back in 2021 and here we are in 2026 and after so much great use and durability (the material is seriously great quality!), it finally broke. I remembered vaguely of a guaranteed, no questions asked warranty so I went and dug through my Amazon purchases to find my previous order, visited their website, filed my warranty claim on a Wednesday and lo and behold, itโs Friday and Iโm holding a brand new, fully updated replacement net!! Seriously canโt even with how impressed I am. A company that actually makes incredible products, stands by them, and then goes above and beyond to make it just the best deal imaginable. My upfront cost for this net 5 years ago has paid for itself ten times over now and the value for the money just blows my mind. Canโt recommend enough! PS - the updates theyโve made to this net compared to the one I had in 2021 show and are beautiful! This size is just perfect and the stability and durability of it is incomparable.

Stop looking and grab this product! You wonโt regret it!
1000% worth it! This company stands by its promise on its product and has unlimited lifetime replacement for residential with easy online replacement request. Bought my product in 2023 and requested a replacement in 2026 with small hole in netting. Replacement request was easy and shipping was fast. I am so impressed with this company that when it comes time to replace other pool products I will check out their line of inventory first. Product may cost a bit more initially but the quality, customer service, and lifetime replacement make it hands down a great investment in your line of pool care!!!!

Great net, excellent warranty service
I purchased this net in 2001 to replace my worn out net. I was intrigued by the fact that Pro Tuff offers lifetime warranty, and that the net is a very fine mesh. The extra fine mesh works very very well, filtering even a lot of fine particles/sediment that would pass through most nets. The fine mesh does create a bit more resistance and takes a little more effort when using, but heck, nice way to tone up your arm muscles. After 2 years of almost daily use, I noticed that the fabric was starting to tear from the frame. I contacted Pro Tuff via their website to file an on-line warranty claim. Process was very easy, and surprisingly, didn't require any pictures, questionnaire to fill out or request to return defective item. Really was a "no questions asked" warranty. Even more pleasantly surprising was net was shipped for free and arrived in 4 days! Living in Hawaii, I wasn't expecting it to arrive for a couple of weeks, as many companies will use snail-mail to send items. Not so here. Pro Tuff products are more expensive than other brands, but with their warranty and customer service, they are easily worth the extra money. I highly recommend them.

Not great for pollen... but still a great net
Here in North Carolina, the pine pollen comes down with a vengeance every spring and just coats everything in this yellow-green mess, pool surface being no exception. I was hoping that the very fine mesh advertised with this net would be able to scoop at least 50% of the pollen floating on the surface, but sad to say the majority of the pollen just floats right on through the net. I do see that about 20-30% of the pollen gets stuck in the net, but the rest of it just gets swirled around in the wake of the net. I guess pollen is too fine. However, the net is awesome at collecting everything else. Small bugs, leaf pieces, whatever gets collected. And the basket portion of the net is plenty large to hold lots of debris so that you're not having to empty it out often. This does significantly speed up the time spent skimming the pool. I was also a bit worried that it would be tough to use the net, in regards to having to muscle it around due to the increased resistance pulling it through the water from the fine mesh on the net. If you read the manufacturer's description, they act like you'll need to be Hercules to use the large sized net due to the water resistance. However, it's not all that difficult and my 10 year old is using the net right now. Overall I'm happy with the net and this has replaced our prior pool net. If it was capable of picking up the pollen, I would be ecstatic and would definitely have given this 5 stars.

Pool Silt Net - ProTuff
Overall this skimmer net works great. I like the fact that it is clear so that you can see leaves and debris floating underneath the water. My previous skimmer net was white and I found it harder to capture this type if material. It also glides through the water with medium resistance, which is good based on the small size of the openings in the net (i.e. for silt). I also find their warranty very impressive. The only negative comment is that I find the depth of the net to be a little small. This means you have to empty it more often. If you try to collect too much debris it just spills over into the pool. Another 2"-3" would be ideal.
