I was at first skeptical because it was coming used but Amazon Warehouse came through and I honestly couldn't even tell it had been used. The headset itself is of superb quality I like the very minimal plastic design it feels sturdy and comfortable to wear and the mic quality is comparable to my Audio Technica 2035. I was also worried because it was a closed design that it would hurt my ears having my Discord and Game Audio coming through them but to my surprise everything sounds perfect even gunshots don't ring me ears it's clear and warm. I highly recommend this headset to gamers abroad you won't be disappointed if you get this at $150.

Great sound, not so clean build.
Love the sound quality and isolation. Cardioid microphone is wonderful. Unfortunately when fitting to my head, the hides are sloppy and detents slip out of their groove. As well, the plastic guides are flimsy and the right side has cracked and would wish for a metal version for solidity.

Great headset. The microphone on this is OUTSTANDING
Great headset. The microphone on this is OUTSTANDING. Love it so much that I want to use it for everything and am considering purchasing a large Beyerdynamic microphone for handheld stuff, as the cardioid mic in this one sounds a lot better than my SM58's.Having XLR and 1/4" connections is great, plugs directly into my mixers with no adapters required. Sometimes I use an XLR splitter for two-channel sound (which really does sound twice as nice).Doesn't come with a case unfortunately but the separate one from Beyerdynamic works really well and has room to store other things as well. Eventually I'll get these into a foamed up Pelican case along with the MMX300 set, other microphone systems, zoom h6, and 8 channel mixer. Will make a nice grab-and-go kit.highly recommend this unit. I find any reason I can to use them, even if it's to simply put them on and sing a long with music :)

How the mighty have fallen.
While I love the headset when it works (hence two stars and not one), it seems that quality of the once mighty Beyer has fallen behind significantly. I shelled out almost 400$ for pro equipment precisely to avoid these types of issues. 400 stinking dollars for something with the build quality of an iphone headset.1. The first time I connected the headset, the left channel could not be heard. Shocked and confused (say it ain't so) I reconnected the headset and the channel fired up and sounded good. I thought it was simply a fluke and a bad connection, but then it happened again. This time I switched audio source, and the left channel was still missing. Then suddenly it came back. These types of issues drives me bonkers. Worse, when I send it back for repair they might conclude that there is nothing wrong here...2. The next thing to happen: When I place the provided foam pop filter on the condenser mic the mic falls off! It seems somebody had forgotten to actually glue the mic properly to the gooseneck, so the mic is now only hanging by its cable. I can't find the words...3. Other than that, the headset feels sturdy. It sounds good *when it works*. Cables seem good. Unfortunately you don't get the "no sweat" velour ear pads with this headset (unlike the 250ohm DT770 on which the 250ohm 797 is based.) The reason is the slightly better isolation for the noisy environments that the DT797 is intended for. (You of course need >12V phantom power for this headset, and a headphone amp that can drive the 250ohm drivers). Initial testing was done with an old Steinberg MI4 which provides 48V phantom, has decent mic preamps, decent headphone amp and works quite well for this purpose.I might upgrade this review based on how the return process is going. I am unfortunately now in a part of the world very I am faced with VERY expensive return shipping costs, so there is no really good outcome for me here. This is why I always buy quality stuff that I don't need to return. I though BD was i this category. I was wrong.UPDATE2: So, I was planning to return it, but due to more than one month lead time to get a new headset I decided to repair it.- I was able to glue the microphone back on, and it has been good since.- I was able to replace the defective left speaker element, which unfortunately kept failing intermittently. The new element (original Beyer spare part) was ordered online, and with the new element the headset is perfect.I am much happier now. But Beyerdynamic should still be ashamed of themselves.UPDATE 3:- COME ON!! The internal microphone cable just bought the farm. Bummer. It appears it can't withstand the twisting motion of the microphone arm. (I tend to flip the microphone up when I don't use it. ) So it looks like I need to get my soldering iron out and replace the cable. Which is a pain for me right now, hopefully will get to it in a couple of weeks. Talk about high maintenance headset. :)

Extremely comfortable in this sense
Cups go OVER your ears, not on. Extremely comfortable in this sense. I have a big head too, so they fit that.If you want to pick up different headphone pads, buy ones for "dt770" it is the same headphone as this without a mic.I personally bought the "EDT770V" pads which although don't noise isolate as much as the stock pads, they are quite a bit more comfortable.Mic quality is great, running it off my "ART TubeMPSTV3" mic amp with a GE 5 star 5751 tube. It's hard to find faults with this headphone for the price I bough it at ($350), while the top shelf Sennheiser "HMDC 27" is twice as much.

Great choice for broadcasting
How have we not heard about this headset sooner? IT is FANTASTIC! We have used another popular brand, but weren't pleased. When we got this one it was perfect for our sports broadcasting needs. We put these headsets through the ringer, and they have done an excellent job. Very nice mic, with a great sound. Easily the best kept secret in broadcast headsets.

Cuffia definitiva
