GE WE18X54 General Electric Filter

5/12/19 - Screen was not attached to the plastic frame. It's a manufacturing defect, nothing to do with whoever stocked it, sold it or shipped it.Was in brand new unopened GE Appliances bag. Stamp on bag seems to indicate it was manufactured in 2018.5/14/19 - I returned the defective screen in exchange for another one. Got the new one today, it looks fine, fits perfectly in dryer. Screen was well attached. Changing review from 1 star to 4 stars.

This was advertised as OEM which leads you to believe it is up to the original manufacturer's standards. That may be a misunderstanding on my part. Either way, the quality is not quite up to that of the original part being replaced, but it serves its purpose. It is just a tad smaller than the original and doesn't fit quite as snug, so it doesn't trap the lint quite as well as the original. The wire mesh is very thin and will probably not last long, which was why I eventually had to replace the original, due to a large hole that formed and the duct tape was just not quite working. The original, however, was 15 years old. I don't foresee this one lasting near that long, but then again, I doubt the dryer will either:)

Perfect fit for my dryer. It is a GE name brand filter that is white. Not a deal break for me by any means but my dryer is almond. It is an older at least 1990's model dryer that still works really well, better than some he dryers I have used before. However kinda hurts the pocket book when you have to spend that amount on a long trap when a lot of the newer style dryer traps are more than half this price. The price is very on par to everyone I checked with.

The main problem with these screens is that they are metal and get rusted with tine and start to failI don’t know why they have not fox this problemAlso the lint gets stuck and have to be removed with a brushThis is a problem that creates an issue

The lint filter I ordered fit my old Hot Point dryer perfectly. I didn't think I would be able to find this part, but there it was, on the Amazon website. Price was (I thought) reasonable and delivery was very fast. Very pleased.
