how many oz. does it hold?

The best way to tell would be to fill it with water and then measure how much water it held, but from a purely mathematical calculation… The smaller one holds about 3.42 fl oz and the larger one holds about 8.3 fl oz.

Can I make caramel in them? Are they safe to melt sugar putting them directly in the flame of the stove?

Hello,I don’t think so I will do the caramel in a heavy bottom pot.

What is the ize of the 3.1 x 3 x 1.9 tins? The photos give different dimension of 4.8 x 8 x 7.2

3.1 x 3 x 1.9 Inches. We have corrected it.

I've used them in the oven to cook a dessert ( small sponge-cake like) so I'd assume they're fine in the steamer too
