WD AV-GP 500 GB AV Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, SATA III, 32 MB Cache - WD5000AUDX

I purchased this hard drive simply for storing documents, pictures and video files. It does the job well and you should not be expecting SSD speeds from a HDD. I posted a benchmark for reference on the sequential speeds. The hard drive noise is also not too loud which is a great thing. Overall, a good choice if you want to have a decent secondary drive on a budget. The only setup advice I have is that you need to go to disk management on Windows 10 to format and partition the hard drive.

I purchased this Western Digital AV-GP 500 GB AV 3.5 Inch SATA Hard Drive to replace a failing Seagate 180 GB Hard Drive complete with a Microsoft OS. This Item arrived promptly and in new condition sealed in an anti-static bag. I cloned the failing hard drive onto the new one and after putting the new hard drive into the PC it booted right up and is working perfectly again. I am satisfied with this purchase and I will definitely be buying again from this seller.

I have found these to be a workhorse! when considering size of system - if you don't want to lose TB's of data ... don't buy by the TB! by a 500GB inexpensive you can multiple or even RAID them on an Intel and AMD (Win or Linux) P.S. GO WITH THE PENGUIN! and can save some face plants into the desk!!!

this hard drive is for security system only.it fit and works well with my security system as was expected

bought this as the HD unit for a Zomodo camera security system and it worked very well. quite pleased with it.

works great; super easy to install.

Now I have plenty o space!

Extra storage and works fine.

音も静かな方だと思いますし、今までの中では普通良いと思います。

単刀直入に申し上げると私の目的（外付けストレージ）に応える商品ではありませんでした．今回問題となったのは製品の仕様が公式と大きく異なる点です．--------------------------------------------------こちらの製品のスペック（２頁）[...]同社の類似製品(*)のスペック（２頁）#5000AUDXよりも負荷が大きい[...]--------------------------------------------------PDFを参照して頂ければ明らかですが，5000AUDXは比較製品(*)よりも駆動負荷は小さいはずです．私の環境（外付け用HDD格納デバイス）では5000AUDXを駆動することができませんでした．・・・比較製品(*)は問題無く動作しているのにも関わらず．（失笑）私の環境のSATA電源出力{{12V, 5V}, 2A}が弱いのも事実です．PCのDC電源を印加した場合は動作しましたから．しかし，そのこととWD社の定める基準に達していないこととは別問題です．比較製品(*)が同じ環境で動作する以上，この製品は初期不良品と考えられます．こちらは上記の理由で返品処置を求めますが，ユーザ側が工夫をすれば物理的に動作はするので星は２つを付けます．リファブ製品は"普通"新品同様の基準をクリアしているはずなのですが，薄利多売の時代にWD社にこれを求めるのは無理なようですね．

Die mir gelieferte HDD ist Baujahr 2012. Da fragt man sich, wo hat die 4,5 Jahre lang gelagert?Extrem leise und wird nicht warm - was allerdings auch daran liegen kann, dass sie nicht funktioniert. Wurde nicht erkannt und selbst über die Eingabeaufforderung war keine Formatierung oder Löschen möglich. RetoureEs kam immer der Berühmte Fehler "Die Anforderung konnte wegen eines E/A-Gerätefehlers nicht ausgeführt werden". Dazu findet man massig Threads in Computerforen - alle ohne Lösung, bzw. mit extremen Aufwand über die Registry, was stets risikobehaftet ist, da alle anderen Platten am vorhandenen System bei mir ja laufen.

Habe die Festplatte zeit heute als Systemfestplatte im Einsatz die Temperratur beträgt bei mir im Gehäuse konstant 32 Grad vom Geräusch her habe ich sie bis jetzt nicht wahrgenommen.Wenn die Festplatte das hält was sie verspricht und so weitermacht bin ich jetzt schon zufrieden. Hatte sie nach Erhalt geprüft es waren keine Fehler vorhanden.Wurde so versendet wie bei allen Festplatten üblich und zufriedenstellend.
