Roku Express 4K+: A Fantastic Streaming Experience for Me!
After using the Roku Express 4K+ for a few weeks, I can confidently say Iโm really happy with my decision. I was looking for a way to upgrade my streaming setup and get 4K quality without spending too much, and this device has delivered in all the areas that matter most to me. Pros: Amazing Picture Quality: The 4K HDR support on this Roku is impressive. Watching movies and shows in 4K has been a noticeable upgrade in picture quality. Colors are vibrant, and details are crisp. Even older content looks better, and Iโve really enjoyed seeing my favorite shows in a new light with such clear, sharp visuals. Simple Setup and Easy to Use: Setting up the Roku Express 4K+ was so easy. I had it up and running in just a few minutes, thanks to the clear instructions on the screen. The interface is straightforward, and navigating through different apps and channels is super simple. Everything I need is right there, and I donโt have to spend time hunting for what I want. Roku Voice Remote is a Game-Changer: The Roku Voice Remote is one of my favorite features. I love how easy it is to search for shows or movies just by speaking into the remote. It works really well, and I donโt have to scroll through endless menus anymore. Plus, it controls both the Roku and my TVโs volume and power, so I only need one remote. Great Free and Live TV Options: Iโve been really enjoying the free channels and live TV access. The Roku Channel offers a solid variety of free movies and shows, and there are a lot of live news, sports, and entertainment channels available, which means I donโt need an extra subscription to watch live content. Tons of Streaming Options: Having access to all the major streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Prime Video is perfect for me. Iโm able to find whatever Iโm in the mood for, and the device handles everything smoothly. The app interface is clean and easy to navigate, which makes switching between different streaming services hassle-free. Cons: Not for Gaming: While this device is great for streaming, itโs not built for gaming. If I wanted to play any serious games, this wouldnโt be the right choice, but thatโs not something Iโm using it for, so it doesnโt bother me. Audio isnโt Top-Tier: The sound quality is decent but not exceptional. The built-in audio is fine for everyday use, but it doesnโt blow me away, especially with the 4K visuals. Iโm considering adding a soundbar to get better sound to match the picture quality, but for now, Iโm still happy with how it performs overall. No Ethernet Port: The lack of an Ethernet port is a bit of a downside for me since I prefer wired connections for more stable streaming. Iโm using Wi-Fi, which works just fine, but I do notice occasional fluctuations in speed. Not a deal-breaker for me, but it's something Iโve noticed. Final Thoughts: The Roku Express 4K+ has been an excellent addition to my setup. The picture quality is fantastic, the voice remote is incredibly convenient, and the setup was quick and easy. The free and live TV options are a nice bonus, and Iโve found myself exploring a lot of new content because of it. While the sound quality and lack of an Ethernet port are small inconveniences, they havenโt detracted from my overall enjoyment of the device.

My favorite streaming device
Rokus are arguably the most affordable and easy to use streaming devices on the market. If you donโt have a Roku TV or any kind of smart TV, or want to use this with a projector or something else, this is a no brainer investment. Iโve purchased many of the older Express 1080p units and this 4K+ unit is basically the same with some added perks. The remote included with this unit is a voice remote and allows power control of the TV/display device all within the same remote. The old basic 1080p units did not come with this so itโs a great upgrade. If you use an external audio amplifier that integrates to your home theater via HDMI, CEC control can be used to allow the volume control to control that as well. All necessary cables and batteries for the remote were included. Also includes VHB tape (command strip) to adhere the Roku to your TV if you choose to do so. My application for this was a very early gen smart TV from 2013. Although itโs only 1080p it has a higher refresh rate than most TVs at that time, the picture quality is amazing, and it still works great so I saw no sense in replacing it. My only complaints are with the Roku design and platform, not this unit in particular: - Specific to the remote, there are a number of channel based services that would benefit from a number pad for direct dialing channel numbers. Roku does not support this, so OEM and aftermarket remotes will never be able to utilize this. - Iโm a huge fan of the purple arrow buttons. Unfortunately they are rubber, not plastic. Easier on the fingers however they get gooey and degrade over time. Iโve had to replace a handful of Roku remotes over the years because of this - Dedicated streaming service buttons should be programmable. If I donโt subscribe to a service, I donโt want it as a remote hotkey. Interestingly enough, different remotes from different vendors all provide different variations of streaming buttons. Thereโs no consistency. At that rate, just get rid of them. Despite the small issues that bother me I still would not steer away from Roku as a platform. It has a lot to offer and an excellent price.

Excellent alternative to Google, Amazon, Apple gadgets
Excellent streaming device for those who want an alternative to Amazon, Google, and Apple devices. I use mine on a smaller 1080p flat screen TV in my bedroom. It provides stellar picture quality and good sound. Image is crisp for movies both in color and classics in black and white. Device is easy to set up and use. Compatible with lots of popular and lesser-known streaming content providers. Roku has its own streaming channels with commercials. It's pretty good, but the selection is limited. A downside is the remote. It's a nice size, but the volume up & down buttons on the side do not consistently work. The mute button is easy to hit accidentally. And all these sound buttons are smooth plastic, unlike the rubberized buttons on the remote's face. While I have seen some critiques of the remote's voice-to-text function, it's worked well for me each time, even when speaking softly. I haven't hooked it up to my 4K living room TV yet, but want to try sometimes and switch out the old Apple TV device connected to it now. All told, I recommend this streaming device to anyone who cringes at the idea of providing their money and data to the big guys. P.S. Not unique to Roku is the inconsistent controls among streaming services. Would be great if they could agree on which remote buttons should be used for previous channel, back, and menu functions.

Pretty good
Our old TV just got a reprieve. After doing some research, we bought this Roku Express 4K+ streaming player and found it works quite well. We have hooked it up to an old Samsung 22" TV (model code LT22B350ND/ZA) which was made in 2013. Received it within a few days of ordering it and it took about 20 minutes to get it working. Ease of use: Follow the included instructions. I plugged it into our power strip rather than the TV USB port since I heard that there were issues related to that (one report of fire, some issues with inadequate power, etc.). Remote takes a little time getting used to - I haven't figured out what all the buttons do and I still haven't figured out how to slave the remote to adjust TV sound. I can imagine that will make my life easier because I won't need to use the TV remote for anything else except for changing the input source and doing some TV fine tuning. Volume adjust/mute buttons are on the side of the remote which was an issue for a few people, but I'm OK with it. From past reviews, sounds like the remote is not very durable but that remains to be seen. Speed: quite responsive - no complaints Appearance: The wireless receiver is quite unobtrusive. This Roku comes with a mounting strip so you can stick it where you want it. I just parked it on the TV base without the strip. Battery life and the rest: remains to be seen but for a gadget that cost less than $40, we're satisfied. So much so that we will get another for our living room TV - it's a few years younger but we expect the Netflix and Prime Video software for it to eventually outdate. One thing that bothers me is that you have to sign up for a Roku account which means giving out your credit card info. I still have misgivings about doing that being the closet Luddite that I am.

Great as expected
My Roku works perfectly and came in its sealed Roku packaging. Easy to set up. Great access. Great quality. Great size to travel with if necessary. The PBS app is my new favorite feature.

This is one of the best streaming devices. Replaced older Roku units I had
I disconnected my cable tv service because of the excess pricing and I only watch about 6 channels anyway. I got my own router. (That is reviewed elsewhere). I have 2 televisions hooked up with ROKU. One is a smart tv, the other is not. This work well on both of them. And the remote is nice because I don't have to first turn on the tv using the TV remote. It also has voice control on the remote and a volume control. This set does not have a remote control locator so, I stuck an extra "Tile" device on the back of the remote so we could find it easily. The remote is rather small and easily disappears into seat cushions, etc. The only thing I have not figure out yet (and so far this has only happened with MAX) is that ROKU kept disconnecting from the internet. I have a new modem and a new mesh router, so I may have to change settings with those, or it could be my ISP. I was able to reconnect via the ROKU app, but eventually had to pull out the TV to control to reconnect and finally had to restart my modem. So, to be fair, I do not know if the disconnection problem was with the modem, the router, the ROKU or the ISP. (ISP said I was getting service to the modem fine - but they always say that.) ROKU has the "Home" base to use. I could take everything off that was a pay for service app, except the ones I wanted to leave on. There are so many apps and so many channels to choose from that it is quite overwhelming. I was not really that interested in most of the ROKU "live" channels, but you can easily get to Amazon Prime, MAX, etc. from HOME, once you set it up, then set up your favorites in each app. The only thing I have bad to say about the ROKU device is that I wish it was a little bigger and had a couple more buttons to program for certain apps. Another thing to know is that when I disconnected my cable television, they did not cancel Disney+ and I could not transfer it to ROKU, so I had to cancel it on the Disney+ web site, then restart it under ROKU. So far, we do not miss cable TV.

useless item in South Africa
If you live in South Africa, I do not recommend you buy it, because most of the features do not work there, some apps do not appear and is not possible to install and if you like the soccer international live sport events you will be frustrated. The voice assistant does not work, even the voice search option

Disappointed my fears! Good device for general Use.
I have to share two points of view: 1- The seller was diligent in his responses and this added confidence in my purchase. 2- Now on to the product itself. I was in search for a streaming device for Netflix and Youtube only and roku gave me confidence over Google 4k streaming device. It truly works well and the UI is very easy and simple to use. I will definitely recommend buyers in Australia to go for it. However, if you have internet issue, no streaming deivce works.

Roku Makes Older TVs Smart. American Apps Right In Your Hands & Connects to Phone
After FlipKart shipped the wrong TV and refused to accept the unopened version back, I ordered this little guy to make the TV smart capable. It allows me to connect my phone to project apps onto TV and play music and shows from around the world that do not have an app. It is small and comes with a remote. Haystack news, Spotify, Netflix are available as apps. J wish more Roku apps were available in India. I take this with me when traveling so I have access to news and updates in English while in hotels where I do not speak the language.
