Since I just received the chair my review will have to be my first impressions. The chair assembly was very simple with all hardware and screws included. Nothing was damaged and packaged very well. Following the directions was straight forward leaving no questions. It may have taken 20 minutes unboxing, unwrapping, and assembly. After reading many reviews I knew what I was buying. The point I would like to make is that most high back chairs are not really made for up close desk work such as typing or writing or computer keyboard work. Although they may suffice an ergonomic body position with support in a more upright position requires more of a shorter backed, mid-back support for long hours in a straight up position in my opinion. I personally feel that the higher back chairs are more suited for leaned back support such as talking on the phone or mellowed out with feet on desk. That's more my style and I find this chair very comfortable both in seat cushion comfort and back cushion support. At only 5' 7" it also offers me ideal head support with room to spare. If and when I use this chair for close up straight back work I tested the push in lock with the lever and tightening the front tension adjustment to max tightness which makes a fairly solid support in that position. As far as longevity and how the chair holds up over time will be something to find out in the future. I am not ruff on my chairs so I'm optimistic looking at it's construction and hope it will last for a while. Some of the reviews talking about the cracking and peeling of the bonded leather on the arm rests is not a great thing to read. Bonded leather makes it's appearance in a lot of furniture on the lower price scale. For a sofa it might mean $250 instead of $2500 for true leather. So price is key to choosing a better quality or living with a less durable material at a huge savings. If you research taking care of bonded leather it pretty much is in line with taking care of top leather. I feel that it is even more important right from the start to apply a leather conditioner. This penetrates and keeps those salty skin oils from drying it out and keeping it from deteriorating. A good conditioner has and replaces a lot of the supplements from the original tanning/preserving process. Anyway for me having dealt with bonded leather before I used my Lexol conditioner within minutes after assembly. On my job we get 10 new chairs every 6 months or so most costing from $800 to $1800 each. They are used around the clock 24-7 by 40 employees and abused heavily. I don't think this chair would take that kind of abuse very long either but having sat in lots of office style chairs of all kinds through the years this one from an initial comfort assessment has to rate with the top tier at least initially by my first impression. I'm impressed for the price point verses comfort and if the chair lasts as long as I hope for personal use I think it is the bargain of the century. We'll see. Edit: After owning this chair for 4 years and sitting in it every day I am totally thrilled by the way it has held up. The photo shows a little bit of relaxed padding on the seat back but the bonded material has held up beautifully. Still pleased with purchase!

Had this chair for 3 months now. Got it on sale at Amazon for slightly over one hundred dollars. Easy to assemble. I have used it for 8 hours a day in my home office. About 800 hours of use so far. Chair is as good now as day one. I examine it frequently, for scratches, dust or mechanical problems. So far, so good. If I wanted an upgrade, I would probably buy a La-Z-Boy which will cost about triple of this chair. Chair is comfortable and I honestly have no complaints. A year or so from now, who knows.

I'd recommend going to a store and trying out chairs if you REALLY care about your chair. Wading through the sea of reviews for a few chairs and a sparse number of reviews for most of the chairs on Amazon was very tiresome. I was too lazy to go searching in person so I finally took a chance on this chair. First, I have to say it was extremely easy to setup. Amazon instructions were clear and it came with a tool to get rolling (pun intended) immediately. I know this was a complaint on many reviews for several chairs I saw. I would definitely give it 5 stars in that category. Second, it is a serviceable chair. It is comfortable. It is a nice size for my desk and I like the brown color and was thankful they had that option along with the black. Being a basic chair, the only thing I note out of the gate that I need is lumbar support. There's none. If you're going to work in this chair all day, you'll need to add something. I ordered a highly rated lumber add-on today once I realized it was not going to work "out of the box." Aside from that, I'm pleased with my initial purchase and only time will tell if the cushion and the mechanics of the chair hold up. I did spring for the 3 year warranty add-on for $13 just in case. But for a $100 chair and the ability to end my searching in the sea of options, I'm very satisfied today. UPDATE: About 15 months in, I'm still happy with this purchase. I definitely needed the lumbar support add-on but with that, the chair has held up nicely and I can comfortably sit in it for long periods of time. This comes from someone who works from home 80% of the week these days. UPDATE: 4+ years later, the construction has held up, no wear like others have shown. Still looks new. I have not used this as a daily chair until the pandemic. It is NOT a good daily task chair as others have mentioned. I have now replaced it with a SecretLab chair because my neck and shoulders were causing me not to be able to sit for long periods in this chair. I'd still recommend based on price and overall wear under my prior less frequent use case but not a good daily / hours on end chair for me.

I will try to be as honest as possible because I depend on other people's reviews and feel I want to help the best I can: Back in 2017 I bought 2 of these chairs for my wife and myself. At the time we could afford them, they seemed well made, and they were small enough to fit in our office together, but large enough to be comfortable. When we get home from work, we sit in our desk chairs a lot, plus my wife has an accounting business in the evenings. They were already getting plenty of use when COVID in 2020 hit and we both found ourselves working from home for a year or more, and now sitting most of the day in those chairs. So, I was not surprised when a few months ago, both of them suddenly started shredding their fake leather cushion covers. Little pieces at a time. But the hydraulics worked, the arms were on strong, and the base was in great shape. We had upgraded the Wheels to those roller-blade styles, and even they were in good shape. 7 Years is a pretty good run for a Fake Leather well-used desk chair. I started searching for 2 replacement chairs. I could now afford a better chair I thought. However, unless I want to enter a whole new zone, all desk chairs use fake leather. After searching Amazon for 2 months, I finally realized, if these AMAZON BASIC chairs can meet all my needs, and not break down until the fake leather starts flaking off under heavy use in 7 years’ time … why not just try them again. To be cautious I bought one to test it. I had forgotten how easy to read the instructions were, how easy to figure out and how quick and easy to put together. I allowed an hour and was done in 12 minutes, INCLUDING taking the old chair apart so I could throw it away. (I kept the bolts from the old chair just in case.) This new Chair was an exact duplicate of the old Chair from 2017. The parts, the size, the quality, and the looks. Frankly it’s as if I am in my old chair except without peeling fake leather. I will say this. Because it happens gradually, the old chair had kind of conformed to my body and butt. This new one feels stiffer and stronger in the places where the old one had weakened. I was pleased enough to just go ahead and buy the 2nd chair so now I have two new chairs side by side that match and to be honest my brain does not even think anything differently when I walk into the room and see them. I think my brain still sees those same chairs from 2017. I highly Recommend. Good luck.

Love this chair. Took a chance and was worried about quality bc of the price but it surprised me. It is super confortable. I good balance of cushy and firm.

This review was based upon needing a chair for remote teaching. I've been teaching for almost 2 decades in a science lab and never really sat down. However, now that we are alternating face-to-face and remote learning - this chair is HEAVEN! I was looking for lumbar support and cushion. I highly recommend it for the price! I recently had surgery and need to sit more during my remote sessions than previously. I now stand about 4 hours still doing demos and instruction at the board standing, but I also about 5-6 off and on throughout the day. I found myself sitting on the edge of my chair and slouching forward until this chair. I am 5' 6" and I can sit with my rear to the back of the cushion and my feet touch the floor. At the highest level they are a few inches off the ground, but I don't use that setting. However, if you had a higher table you could. There is a nice cushion under my knees and lumbar support so I can sit straight up, but feel comfortable. As another reviewer suggested - I have the reclining feature tight so it does not lean back, but you can easily change that with the turn of a knob under the seat. It provides support up to my shoulders - I do not need head support for the work I am doing. It alleviates the tension in lower back and the shoulder slouching. I'll have to update the review in 6 months to see how the cushion withstands the increased sitting time the rest of the school year as well as any wear and tear of the material. For now, I'd say this is an excellent purchase! As other viewers have mentioned, the assembly took about 20 minutes. They delivered to my school and they provided the Allen wrench. Although, if you had the electric driver, I'm sure it would have been faster. I did it old school and there were no issues. The instructions are straightforward - except for the arms. I should preface, they are marked 'L' and 'R'. I had even read another reviewer on here switched them. So, I was intentional about looking to make sure I did not do the same. I DID! After I put one of the arms on - I then noticed the letter on the arm...it's in the same color as the paint - it's an indention of the letter and until I tilted in the light (AFTER) I had attached it - I noticed it. The only tip I would give would be to look for the clearly marked stamps on the arm. This will save you time. Also, due to surgery, I had a hard time attaching the arms after it was on the pedestal (so I took it back off and assembled on the floor for better leverage). All of that being said, I assembled at the end of a long Friday - if you read the instructions carefully and look for the lettering on the arms - installation is easy! I definitely recommend and do not regret the purchase one bit. (I did notice the seat wobble at first, but that was because I need to take it off and put it back on the center pedestal - I had not installed all the way into the hole). Great wheels and rolls smoothly! LOVE the chair!!!

I have only had the chair a few hours now so this review is of first impression and details. I usually wait to do reviews but choose to on this one. Things I noticed that maybe important to others as information: If you are a tall person you may want to measure your height and etc. I am 5' 6" Tall 175lbs. and this chair is perfect size for me. it does have some room 20" max width from arm rest to arm rest. seat is 19" deep from back to front, Back Height from seat is 26" to top (Will be a little more height when sat on) but this being said the top of my head is just perfectly at the top of the head rest height. Putting it together is a breeze and anyone could put this together, Everything's Labeled to fit the instructions, packaged well. Took me about 10 minutes. Pros: Very Comfortable, Perfect size for me, Looks Great, Easy to put together if you follow the easy directions. No tools needed (Tool is included), Arm rests Height Perfect, Cons: The Back is only held together by the arm rests, This I find very odd but possibly normal to all chairs. If you rock the chair back and forth you can feel the back flexing (This I believe to be why others have claimed the chair squeaks and makes noise while tilting back). I am going to make a bracket that will attach the back to the bottom of the Seat to keep it secure and sturdy for the long haul. P.S update on the chair after less then 3 months of owning, although the chair is still comfortable but with a major Con. with normal daily use the fake leather on the arm rests has started to crack and peal. I will not be buying this chair again nor recommend to anyone.

I am updating this review as of 11/01/2017. I'm sorry to say, I'm very disappointed in the quality of this chair. On the positive side, I find it very comfortable - for the past couple weeks I've worked extremely long days and I have felt no discomfort, which is great. However, please view the photos I have added. This was delivered and assembled on September 28, 2017. Only three weeks of use and the material was tearing at the seams on one side of my chair. I am not a large woman. I'm 5'1" and I'm average weight. I wish I'd sprung for a better quality chair because it would have been worth it to me to spend a little more and have it last for years rather than $100 for three weeks of it looking nice. I'm very disappointed in this purchase. It's better than what I had, but I'm not a happy camper to be sitting in a chair that's fraying at the seams so quickly. The only reason it's getting three stars is because it really is comfortable to me and that counts for something. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's my original post: I just received this chair yesterday and I'm very happy with this purchase! I was looking at chairs at Staples this week and I'm glad I didn't buy one there since I found this AmazonBasics chair. I'm SO glad I looked here before spending the same amount on a much smaller chair at Staples. It was a bummer that assembly was required, but it wasn't difficult. It sits well. It rocks back nicely. I'm vertically challenged, so at 5'1" my head rests comfortably on the back. If you're tall, your head will likely be above the back of the chair (like the product photo of a man sitting in it). My feet reach the floor with the chair all the way lowered, but barely (only my toes reach the floor). So, I do wish I could lower it just a bit more, but it's not really an issue for me since I prop my feet on a footstool I keep under my desk anyway. I may update this review after sitting in it for a full workday, but as I said, I'm very happy with this purchase. I must admit, this is the nicest desk chair I have ever owned!

La silla es una maravilla. Se siente cómoda, no tanto como sentarse en una nube pero si lo suficiente para pasar toda una jornada laboral ahí sentado. Tal vez no tiene mucho respaldo en la espalda baja pero como es acolchonada casi no se siente la falta de. Estéticamente me hubiera gustado que fuera de metal en lugar de plástico todas las partes plateadas pero en general está bien. Me encantó, aún no la he usado pero pinta bien! La caja venía bien mal, la cinta toda mal puesta y vieja como que la tenían guardada por mucho tiempo pero afortunadamente llegó en excelente estado y súper fácil de ensamblar.

For the price this is one of the best office chairs you can buy. It is extremely comfortable and durable. The leather on the chair gives it a nice texture and is extremely comfortable to sit on. The back support is excellent and offers good spinal support. I did not find myself getting tired or feeling uneasy when using this chair for long stretches. The chair at its lowest height setting is still higher than most and you may find that your feet barely touch the ground. A footrest is recommended. The instructions for putting all the parts together were fairly simple and can be done by one person. It shouldn't take longer than 30 min to assemble. The packaging it arrived in was damaged and it damaged the plastic shielding on the legs. There were some scratches on the metal surface too but that seems to be a problem with the shipping carrier.

Everything I hoped this chair would be. Well padded and fairly easy to put together although it is tricky to attach the back to the side arms - it took me a total of 1.25 hours from the time I opened the box. I did change the standard cheap casters with better ones (Slueli) which are smoother and easier on the chair pad.

It is very fancy looking and the gold trim matches the colour of the handles of our computer desk and the colour of the chair goes well with our computer desk. The seat is really well cushioned and comfortable. The arms are just the right height so we can push the chair in so it is not sticking out into the room. As the chair sits really close to the key board you don't get back strain from leaning forward over the key board. It is the nicest looking computer chair we have ever bought and been so satisfied with.The price of $100 Canadian for the chair with free shipping plus taxes on price of the chair made it $100 well spent. We have bought numerous computer chairs through the years but they never compared to this chair in anyway and didn't last before something would go wrong with the chair. The last chair we had the seat would all of a sudden go down without warning when you were sitting at it and then you were not at the right height for the key board anymore. I can't remember how many computer chairs we have owned since having our computers for many years but we just gave them all away or took them to the Goodwill store.
