I use these fasteners to hold down tarps on wood racks, and also to fasten a tarp across an open carport door, after I closed in the sides. To open the carport, I just unsnap the fasteners and roll the tarp up using installed pulleys and rope. For use on tarps, I put an extra layer of tarp material behind the fastener for extra strength. These fasteners come in two parts. One part fastens to a solid base with screws, and the other half, an oval hole fastens to a tarp, or canvas cover. To hold the tarp in place you put the oval hole over the mounted base, and twist the oval shaped pin to lock it in place. These fasteners are very strong, and mine haven't corroded or rusted. After a couple of years of exposure to the weather, they are still shiny and new looking. I would recommend these fasteners to anyone wanting to install semi-permanent covers over anything. I'm very happy with them.

I used these to attach canvas to our camper. Previously I used snaps, but we got tired of them rusting, being hard to snap and falling apart. These work great, keeps the canvas tight and are so easy to use.
