Had to return after repeated crashes despite the good review below
Background: I just bought a maxed-out Laptop 4, i7, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB disk. I may or may not need it but my (own) company pays and since nothing is upgradeable it may be worth it in the long run (if you're billing by the day/hour the cost of moving from one setup to another is close to the actual hardware cost...). This is my 3rd Surface product, after a beloved Surface Pro 4 (i7, 16? GB mem, 512 GB) that met its maker on the ground, and a Surface Pro 6 (i5, 8GB, 128 GB + SD card, fanless). Before that, a Dell (cannot remember the exact reference but similar form factor, decent autonomy and good performance, loved it too). Never used a Mac regularly. All of the below may be redundant with press articles.First impressions:- Screen is great. That was my first buying driver. When working on the go (think excel) it is a lot more comfortable that a 13''. I had started using my ipad as a second screen but it never felt natural/smooth. Here, bigger is better. Definition is more than adequate, more ppi like 4k would not make a difference (but then... I'm a boomer with declining eyesight).- Form factor is nice too. The weight difference vs a Surface tablet + keyboard is insignificant at the end of the day. However if you use it on a desk most of the time, the larger footprint + inability to fold/remove the keyboard is something to consider, notably if you want to use a separate standard keyboard (think numpad...). A Surface book 3, while bulkier on the go, might be a better choice a a desktop.- Processing power is dismal: tested it on a large excel model (requiring several minutes to run), performance is about 50% better than that of my previous surfaces. We're benchmarking to an i5 of past generations, or to the surface pro 4 with i7 (released over 5 years ago...). Not Microsoft's fault but where's Moore's law ?!In most cases any of these is more than adequate for less demanding tasks but then: why upgrade of you can't get that extra Oomph when you need it ?- Battery life ... TBD. That was also a deciding buy factor, but IRL (browsing and light productivity use) the difference vs Surface Pro is not that clear cut.- Moving from fanless back to fanwith takes some getting used to it. I had recently returned a Surface Pro i7 given the noise, and negligible performance improvement vs my previous-generation fanless i5. Here, there is at least some performance upside (but again: benchmarking vs several year ago) and the Laptop 4 remains quieter or event silent. I would gladly consider a modern fanless i5 Surface Laptop over the current setup (especially given the lackluster performance gap).So no big letdown, I know what I was bargaining for. I also enjoyed the backward compatibility as I had several Surface chargers, docking stations, pen etc, + same for my wife: standardization makes life easier (if not for that legacy I might have made another decision).I definitely would love to see better processing power. And a larger battery on the 15'' version, either by default or as an option. But otherwise it looks, feels and works fine.Plus, but that does not relate to the product itself: I bought it early as they (Microsoft and/or Amazon) offered a bundle with free earpieces to early adopters...but once ordered the Laptop (but not the earpieces) was shown as unavailable with deliveries postponed sine die. While the same Surface Laptop 4 remained available at full price to new buyers (without the bundle)... early adopters had to wait. Sounds like a scam. I ordered the laptop alone, and I will return the other laptop (but not the earpieces) once it get it delivered, eventually.

Full of Faults
Product arrived and looked great but usability I quickly realised is really quite poor. The Cortana search function is incredibly slow and the laptop is brand new, really disappointing. The touchscreen doesn't work so I restart the laptop and it works for a few minutes but then stops again, disappointing. I find the touchpad requires quite a heavy hand and doesn't have the smoothness I was expecting. As you can see I found this product very disappointing and I expected a lot better (feel like it was advertised as a much more powerful piece of machinery)

Great laptop - only negative comment is that the casing has sharp edging
Great laptop - will last me years. The only negative comment is that the case edge finishes off in quite sharp edging which gets uncomfortable when you rest your hands on it whilst typing. I don't know why they don't just round this off slightly. Otherwise all good - amazing battery life and the Win 11 upgrade for nothing is great offer too. Would of been 5 star if not for the sharp edges.

only 1 usb point
This only has 1 usb port and not the 2 as specified in your details. Surely not hard to tell the truth. I have to buy some add on now

Great laptop - couple of software niggles
Bought this sub £850 in an Amazon sale to replace an ageing Macbook Air. It is lightning fast with great touchscreen and good battery life. High quality biuld with lovely keypad. Very pleased. My only couple of niggles are with the Windows software; Microsoft adverts occasionally pop up which annoy, plus Microsoft Outlook (mail and calendar) will simply not properly import my gmail and google calendar, leaving me having to use non-native Microsoft apps or Chrome.

A reliable laptop with a gorgeous display and a great keyboard.
I think this laptop is a good choice for someone who needs to type a lot. The keyboard and screen are absolutely fantastic and the laptop is quite light, and the power supply is also very compact. It is not the most powerful laptop out there, but does the job well. It is very reliable, and for me that is more important than getting the latest processor. The trackpad is very responsive, overall build quality of the product is very sturdy. I don't use the touch screen at all, so I cant really comment on that.

Quality laptop for those that want/are comfortable with the Windows OS
The laptop is light, portable and lovely to type on. Processor is fast and have not (yet) found any delays incurred. Some small niggles, the screen is quite reflective which catches the sun at certain points during the day, also the webcam is not really up to the standard I would expect.
