After doing some training with it, and modifying it for me, I'm thoroughly happy with this item

Firstly, it has some sharp mold release excess plastic that needs filing off in places that will cut into your flesh when holding it, but of course that is not a deal breaker. Secondly, lightweight and fits into the closed fist such that you still want to punch. So in explanation it feels as if you can just have it in your fist while doing closed fist work, and then use as necessary/desired for each of your particular business needs. You will need to adapt your game plan to it, as what I have noticed with these sorts of weapons is that each has its own heft, and feel and how "it desires" to be operated (I had mistakenly lumped tactical pens, and various shapes of these as all operating the same). Very small and will easily carry in shirt/pants pocket. I bought some tactical pens and then just received this, and I found that the pens have a different even though the "same" usage profile, but I found this kinda fits the bill more of what I was wanting from both the tactical pen and this item, but I think this item is more efficient as the slightly larger grip profile gives more effective usage without such definition of how the item has to be used as dictated by a thinner profile and such mechanics as inherent in each. in further example, I would think this item would instantly be more usable in an unskilled carrier than say the tactical pens, as I think this item would be more consistent with a natural motion and gripping action and "lay" skill set than the tactical pen. I think the tactical pen with an unskilled carrier and determined attacker would be less easy to wield and retain than this item.

Up front - I am a st citizen with a little (very little) martial arts experience. With everything going on in NYC, wanted just a little edge given my age and lack of training. This has a nice heft to it and fits easily into a pocket. As others have said, the ends are triangular and are more effective at letting your attacker know that they’ve been hit. Circumference is just right and solidifies your fist when punching and weighs a lot less than the old fashioned roll of quarters. I’m hopeful that this is just a toy that never ever needs to be used but I feel just marginally better knowing I have a little something.

Fits right in the palm of my hand, making it easy to conceal, or stick it in my back pocket. Light weight & will do the job.

Light of weight, black in color, dull points, strong plastic, about the size of a full sized screwdriver handle. Lots of people call similar tools kubotans. Most martial artists will take to this pretty easily; it's a good add in to many existing techniques such as punches, locks, breaks, soft tissue strikes, etc... It's surprising how terrible one of these can be in the right hands.

Handy self defense aid. Not too big to keep in your pocket. Has helped keep things from getting to wild.

Sold as an KOGA SD1. Packaging on item I received clearly says it is a KOGA Mini SD2. Come on... get it together. I do like that it fits in the curl of my fingers. To narrow for the palm fit I wanted like the SD1 should be.
