Can't figure out why it keeps disconnecting from our network. Every time the main WiFi is reset, this will not reconnect until it's rebooted as well. D-Link app works intermittently especially on cellular network. Using this as home security but it's not reliable.

Image is clear but I was disappointed with faked features reported on site - Apple HomeKit compatibility and network recording. Nothing is possible. I had bought this cam when this info disappeared from the site. Now it can record to SD card only and support doesn't answered how to setup network recordingAnd one more thing - vendor set a region restriction - if you located outside US - don't buy this cam - may be you can't link it to mydlink account. And support didn't told me about it. They asked questions -"are you sure that you have this cam type? And disappeared for 3 days - thanks to seller - he gave me an idea about my account and I'm change country - and cam was linked without errors. So, cam is good but vendor ))) Dlink

Difficult to setup and software needs improving
It was difficult to setup since my router does not have a functioning WPS button. A WPS button gives you a short period in which to access the network with no password, which also lets hackers use your network. Their use can be permanent if they use a "keep alive" signal to never disconnect their device - thus having the ability to use up your Internet data usage allowance. Dlink customer support was able to help me get it online but only because I was able to get its IP address.Once it was online Dlink customer support tried to convince me that ONLY the "mydlink home" app would be able to let me access the device video, BS. Their software is so screwy that the "my Dlink home" app automatically accesses the "mydlink lite" app that is already installed. Since this is a cloud app they could easily use software to display the video only in their other apps. Since I now have a mix of their cameras it is highly frustrating to have to use different apps to access different devices. After looking at the other reviews I see that they have other software issues too. Wish they would get their act together. The video is fine and if this camera is the only model you are using then the "my Dlink home" app running from your smartphone or tablet is adequate. Other reviews say you can't access the device video from a Mac or Windows computer. There are two red IR LEDs that are quite strong and it appears that the resultant night vision is more like 22' (greater than the 16' spec).UPDATE 9/1/17I use the camera to watch my backyard. I've noticed that the video quality rapidly degrades when you want to look at something more than about 30' away. If this is important to you I recommend getting a camera that displays at least at 1040 P. This camera displays at 720 P.

Camera works as designed. And it was designed by idiots.
I own six D-Link DCS cameras. I have them all monitoring different areas of my property. By far, the most useful feature to me on those cameras is the ability to configure the camera through an internal Web server to email me a picture, a series of pictures, or a video clip when motion is detected. When something is triggered I get an email, and can then look at the email to see the evidence of what happened. So when a deal came up on this DCS-8200LH camera, I jumped on it. My 6 other D-Link cameras were 5+ years old and the resolution was too poor on those cameras to make out things like license plate numbers..I open the box and plug the camera in, first thing I notice is that the power cord is comically short. It is much shorter than the cords on my other cameras. unless you plan on putting this a foot or two from an outlet there is no way to use this without buying a longer power supply cord, or use an extension cord. Is D-Link really pinching pennies so much that they need to cut the power cords down to a couple feet to save that expense? I already am getting the impression that this device is designed by a bean counter and not an actual product engineer!I get the new camera hooked up and immediately find out I can't use the old tried and true D-Link Lite app that I had been using for some of the configuration and monitoring. Even if you log into mydlink.com you cannot view the camera. You just get a screen telling you to download the app for your phone. Well I could live without that. Having to use a different app (myDLINK Home) is only a minor annoyance. The email of pictures is what I really need to use it for anyway. Now imagine my surprise when there is NO WAY to set up emailing a picture of what happens to an email account. Features that were available on D-Link cameras from 5+ years ago are excluded on this camera. You can set up an IFTTT event to send an email when motion is detected, BUT you can't send a picture along with it. What good is an email that just says "Hey motion was detected, you might want to check it out." Well gee thanks, now the person is long gone, and I can't see what the heck happened! What in the world was D-Link thinking? If this company is making brainless decisions like this, then I am seriously thinking of selling my cameras and moving to DropCam or something else. This DCS-8200LH camera, works exactly as designed, and because of that it is completely worthless. The very basic features you would expect from a WiFi camera are absolutely non-existent on this device. If D-Link has any sense left at all, they will add these basic features back through a firmware update.Unfortunately, I had this sitting on a shelf for too long before I discovered what a worthless hunk of plastic it is and I cannot return it. D-Link has managed to turn off a loyal customer. This is likely the last D-Link product I will ever buy.

Nice optics - terrible networking
I have 15 d-link cameras throughout my home and on my boat. All use the myDlink app and are really easy to set up. Except this one. It has amazing optics but doesn't play nicely with any other dlink cameras. It does NOT use the mydlink app. It uses the DlinkHome app. It does not have a web interface (at least one that I could figure out - when you try to go to the camera's ip address it cannot connect.) I can't figure out how to network this to a specific port or how to do anything other than view it on the DlinkHome app on my iphone.Does not play nicely in the sandbox with every other Dlink camera I own. It is as if this camera were made by a totally different company. The optics though - 180 degrees - look pretty good although the fisheye effect is very strong.

No recomiendo comprarla
