This auto winder works very well

Great watch winder. I have two of these.

I normally do not write reviews, but I was between this and a Wolf winder and I feel like nobody pointed out any of the obvious issues I am noticing. I ultimately went for the Orbita because everything I read said that these were 'the' winders to get and that these were better quality than the Chinese made Wolf. When my winder arrived I have to say I was slightly disappointed. It definitely had the weight and feel of a quality winder, but the finish was not what you would expect from a watch winder from one of the top names in the business. It also does not help that the seller's description is a little misleading. If you read the description it states that this winder has an aluminum frame, which I took to mean the frame (that is visible) was made of aluminum, however that frame is plastic with very obvious mold lines that I can see from a decent distance. I feel like thinking it was aluminum and getting plastic was enough of a disappointment, but when you factor in the fact that the plastic is not finished neatly it makes me question if this is the product I have read so many wonderful things about. In addition to this, the plastic in the cup that holds the watch is very sloppily cut on one side.Pros:-Quiet mechanism-Battery power makes it convenient to put anywhere-Mechanism seems like good quality, nice ball bearings, etc.-Sleek designCons:-Finishing details are not up to quality standards expected for this item (would be 5 star all day if it was a $100 winder)-Difficult to switch between 10 and 15 minute settings which is annoying as one of my watches requires 10 and the other 15.All in all:-This will get the job of keeping your watch wound done, but it will not look quite as well made as your watch when you are putting it in there.

This winder had received very positive reviews in the online watch community. When I saw this winder recommended for Patek, Rolex and Grand Seiko, I wanted to see why.This clever winder is most like the movement of your wrist. Thus, it is perfect for all automatic watches. Just be patient as, unlike other winders, the Orbita does not simply spin. Instead, every 6 to 12 minutes (depending on the setting), the winder turns once and then allows the force to move the watch as if it were on your wrist.I was so impressed by this winder that I bought a second one! That is a reflection of how I feel about this Orbita winder. And BTW, the seller is terrific. The longest that I had to wait was 2 days.

The Orbita Sparta Bold is well constructed and being battery operated, you can store your watch away in a cabinet or drawer if you don't want it out. I'm sorry I didn't order the delux version which comes in a custom wooden case. I found the sound of the winder while relatively quiet, was keeping me up at night. I had wanted to keep the winder on a shelf on my nightstand but moved it into my walk in closet. Perhaps the wooden case would have muffled the sound.I'm able to keep my Rolex running using the extended 12 minute cycle which increases battery life. All said, I'm happy with my purchase.
