Poorly designed, just doesn't work
I was so-o-o looking forward to receiving this for my dog and was GREATLY disappointed with this product. It is poorly designed and sized. My large dog (65 lbs) was strangled by the harness. The hips pads are useless for support; their design does nothing that can provide support. There are many products of this type for humans that this device could have borrowed from that actually work, too bad it did not.

These hips are made for walking.
My Samoyed is 14 years old and has hip dysplasia and arthritis. I don't use this product every day in fear my dog will become totally dependent on the brace. However, on days his arthritis really flares up and he is limping, I put on the Hip Eez and you can easily see how much more stable he is taking his morning walk. Yes, he is also able to do "his business" while wearing the brace. The only problem I initially had was trying to find how to correctly position the brace and how tight it should be. With a little trial and error, we figured it out. He confidently pranced around once it was put on correctly. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

Properly measure your dog!
I felt the price was ridiculous and takes advantage of dog owners that have likely already made a significant dent in their wallets in an effort to relieve their fur-baby's pain due to dysplasia and/or hip replacement. The product is helpful but made of inexpensive material and many more animals could be helped if the manufacturer made their product more cost effective. In addition, if you do not know how to properly measure your dog, ask for help or you will fork out A LOT of money for a product that will do a disservice to your dog. Unfortunately, my mother disregarded my measurements that fell within the Medium range and ordered a Large and she had a stroke immediately after so here my baby sits with no brace still as she was unable to return it in a timely fashion which is not the manufacturers fault. However, comparatively speaking, this brace does seem like one of the best ones currently offered unless you have THOUSANDS of dollars to have one custom-made. That is why I gave 4 stars but I really feel it is a 3 star product for the price. In fact, I am in the process of making a custom-fit brace out of the exact same material with the added dense-foam inserts like those offered by this manufacturer for an additional outrageous price (total cost $200+) for only $10. *DISCLAIMER* I only advise this if you are confident in your abilities to do such a thing as incorrect sizing and shape of a brace can cause more harm than good so please do not follow my lead without your vets approval.

Chokes my dog
Pros: seems to be made from durable material, order came quickly.Cons: chokes my dog when she lays down, no instructions on how the dang thing goes on!I purchased this to help my 12 year old lab with her hip arthritis. I was so excited when it came and hopeful it would help her with her movement. Fast forward to a half hour struggle to figure out how the contraption goes on and to be sure it was on proper. I'm still not totally convinced that it fits the way the product pictures show even AFTER I Googled and found a product video.I read other reviews about it choking dogs so I thought I'd check for myself while my dog was sleeping. Well, the reviews were right!! It was pulling so tightly on her throat that I immediately released the harness clip, removed the velcro strap that holds the brace on and took it off from around her neck. The video shows that it should be "snug" around your dogs neck. Snug and choking the dog are 2 totally different scenarios!!! I'm going to give it a week, loosen the collar part as far as it will go, but I'm afraid I will be asking for a refund. 😔 Time for good old fashioned ingenuity and come up with something on my own.

No instructions.
There were NO instructions on how put on or adjust the brace. The size chart only ask for measurement for hip portion of the brace. The harness was too small, luckily I was able to use her walking harness with this back portion of the brace.
