Kidde FA110 Multi Purpose Fire Extinguisher 1A10BC, 2-pack

Here's the problem: The brand new fire extinguisher failed when I tried to use it on a vehicle fire just a couple of months after purchasing it. Just a tiny puff of contents came out, and the pressure guage still was in the green zone. Fire fighters arrived and put out the fire. They looked at the fire extinguisher to make sure it wasn't user error and confirmed that it wasn't working.To the good, Kidde replaced the fire extinguisher after I called them up, and they requested that I send the defective back for their examination with shipping prepaid.But the experience makes me wonder....how do you know if a fire extinguisher will work before the time you need it most? I checked if a failure was a regular occurrence. I couldn't find information on that but I was surprised how many fire extinguisher recalls have occurred. Would consumers even know?

Shocked to see white powder on both extinguishers I ordered. No safety ring on. They were used and empty and put in a box. Not eligible to return to Amazon. Just contacted Kidde. Needless to say I want to return them and get a refund. We'll see how it goes. UPDATE: after a few days costumer service sent me this email: "We do not do refunds, if you would like a refund you will need to contact Amazon. I will however send you two replacement extinguishers, you should receive them within 7-10 business days. Thank you." No "apologies", "we're shocked" or anything similar. I guess this happens to them a lot. I received the new extinguishers a few days later. Now I need to find out where to dispose the first ones.

One came completely empty.

I bought this back in April and put it under my kitchen sink in case if fire. I was excited bc it was a good price and looked easy to use. I just got around to reading the directions (which I know is my fault for waiting so long) and I took it out of the box and the gauge is reading "empty"!! It says right on the extinguisher that it needs to be replaced if it's reading empty. So now I have a worthless fire extinguisher that I can't return. Don't buy this product!!

Pin must come out too easily because it came out in shipping and the fire extinguisher was empty and activated.It was very disappointing to only receive half of what I paid for. This is just one of those product I would not recommend buying off Amazon.com.

One night I was out taking care of some things I needed for the house and my wife was decorating for Christmas, and she put a candle in the bathroom unattended and the it caught of fire due to some fabrics around it, long story short my kid remembered we had a Kidde fire extinguisher and went to get it, gave it to mom and mom pit out the fire which was engulfing the room. Can’t say how fortunate we are to have these now. I have purchased 2 more and keep them installed through out the house.Thank you Kidde!

One of the extinguishers went off in the box and was empty upon arrival. Not good...

We bought two for our new home back in December. My husband was doing some repairs in the garage where we placed one from the package of two.My husband was fixing some in the garage and called me get the fire extinguisher, remove the safety and he went to try to put out the fire it didn't work, it was more like fumes coming out of it. Thank God it was small fire and we put it out with water and it still says full! But doesn't work.
