This is an excellent camera with sharp picture quality
This is an excellent camera with sharp picture quality. I did extensive research on many dash cams and rear cameras prior to purchasing and it paid off. Love the Thinkware F770 dash cam and the rear camera I bought along with it. Try to bundle when purchasing for better price deals. I don't understand why anyone would buy just the dash cam without buying the rear camera as well. ...I guess it comes down to WHY your buying in the first place. Either way, I highly recommend this product(s) as it is simple to use, the quality is top rate, and the videos are outstanding. It is what they say it is. Good job Thinkware!

Steps I used to get a 3rd party 128GB card to work.
So far the camera works great. Great picture quality, lots of features. The only problem I had was getting the camera to recognize my card. Lexar Professional 1000x microSDXC 128GB UHS-II/U3 (Up to 150MB/s Read) W/USB 3.0 Reader Flash Memory Card LSDMI128CBNL1000RWhen I put the new card in the camera and powered it up, all I got was the message "MEMORY CARD ERROR SYSTEM RESTARTING". Pressing the Format button didn't help. Also, connecting the 128GB card to the PC and running the DashCam Viewer software didn't allow me to format the card. I suspect the DashCam Viewer software is looking for specific files on the card before it will recognize it, but the camera wouldn't initialize my new card and write the files. Catch 22.I did get it to accept the card but only after a few steps:- I inserted the 32GB card that came with the unit and turned the camera on.- It initialized the card and I let it record a few minutes.- I took out the 32GB card and connected the provided card reader to my computer.- I took my new 128GB card and connected it to the computer with its card reader- I formatted the 128GB card with FAT32. This is the format that the included 32GB card had. My 128GB card was formatted as exFAT.- I copied all the files from the 32GB card to the 128GB card.- I loaded the DashCam Viewer software and it recognized the 128GB card.- I formatted the 128GB card using the DashCam Viewer software. When I put the 128GB card back in the camera, it then recognized the new card. I took a test drive and everything seems to be recording fine.I know this is a lot of steps and I'm not sure all these steps are needed. Specifically, I'm not sure if I needed to format the 128GB card as FAT32 before copying the files, but I was just trying to make the cards as similar as possible.

May drive you crazy with incessant reformat messages
If you want to go positively mad with this dashcam reminding you incessantly to reformat your memory card, this is the one for you. I have had this over a year and tried disabling the notifications in the settings and the incessant reminders kept on coming, almost every time I started my car. And it repeats the message over and over and over and over and over........ Even when I shut my car off!!!!!!!! I finally opened this thing up and disconnected the speaker. What a relief!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would problem have gone away if I bought Thinkware's highly overpriced memory card? Maybe. Otherwise I like these cameras (front and rear cameras) a lot.

Good dash-cam but would not buy again
This dash-cam records good video and has a lot of functions. You can watch live video on your phone from the dash-cam while you are installing it so you can position it correctly but it stops recording during live video. It looks like there's a setting for turning the dash-cam off if the battery goes below a set voltage so it might have a built in battery protector but I haven't tried that function. But to come to the point even though this is a good dash-cam I would NOT buy it again. I tried 2 different brands of memory cards and each time the dash-cam said MEMORY CARD ERROR SYSTEM RESTARTING. One was Jaewoncnc which is another company that makes good dash-cams and the other one was by Transcend which is mentioned on YouTube videos as being another preferred card for this dash-cam. The only card that works is the one that came with it which is made by Thinkware. And it's not just this one dash-cam because I had bought 2 of them along with 4 Transcends cards. The second dash-cam won't accept the other cards either. I sent an email to Thinkware and their response saidThank you for contacting Thinkware Dash Cam.Please be advised that we highly recommend using a Thinkware brand memory card as it is the only brand that is guaranteed to be compatible with our dash cams. Even though non-Thinkware brand memory cards meet the microSD card requirements, each manufacturer uses slightly different file settings and systems that varies between batches. As such, we cannot guarantee the performance or recommend non-Thinkware brand memory cards with our products. Please feel free to contact us again if you encounter any other issues.Kind regards,Now as of today which is December 29, 2016 Amazon sellsThinkware 32 GB for $ 49.99 64 GB for $ 57.81Transcend 32 GB for $ 21.58 64 GB for $ 39.99Patriot 32 GB for $ 25.99Which means their cards cost around $ 20 more than other cards at the same capacity. That is why I would not buy this dash-cam again.

Great dash cam
Bought this for my hubby's birthday present. Had an auto accessory shop install it with the hard wire kit. They concealed the wire beautifully and mounted it right underneath the rear view mirror. Note:The cam has an phone app specific to this model. We downloaded the wrong app at first. A call to the customer support pointed us to the right app and it connected fine. The cam has lots of features, alerts, etc. that we have on the car already so we don't use them but it takes great video. Recommend downloading the user manual for information because it isn't in the box. Fine device.

Easy to install in my Jeep Wrangler
Easy to install in my Jeep Wrangler. I went online and found a YouTube video. The quality of video is excellent in day, night and fog and rain. Am happy and would recommend. I have downloaded video onto my phone plus used the SD card on my computer.

Aweful Video Quality
The amazon shipping box arrived with a dent but still sealed. The ThinkWare box inside was untouched. After installing the camera mount in my vehicles windshield, inserting the SD card and downloading the app I opened the "Live View" in the app and was unimpressed by what I saw. I've since downloaded footage from the SD card to my computer and the footage is still poor quality. I have also gone through the settings to verify if they were correct and attempted making changes to improve the video quality however nothing helped. The first three green pictures I attached are from the F770 purchased from this seller. They show poor quality green footage. The fourth picture is from the rearview Thinkware camera purchased from a dealer. The sticker on the ThinkWare box that states "Amazon Warehouse Deals. Inspected and Repackaged" obviously refers to the physical state of the box and device inside and not the actual functionality of the product. I really didn't enjoy wasting my time and gas with this order, hopefully the seller can make things right.

Good dash cam
Reliable. Gets the job done. Not to hard to install. The one we got was branded with Nissan. Perhaps that is why it was discounted. Anyway, it works the same as the one we bought from Best Buy for the other car. Only annoying feature is the need to regularly format the memory card. However, that is solved with the push of a button and only takes a few seconds. Overall, much better than the cheaper models we had used before.

Nice clear picture - superimposed GPS is not gawdy or Blockie. very nice Would absolutely recommend this unit.
Love the packaging on it. hides well behind the rear view mirror. Wireless works beautifully. Clear picture - easily read signs and plates, (if close enough). Integrated GPS very nice. Only comment I would add is I personally don't think the Lane Departure Warning System, (LDWS) and the Forward Collision Warning Systems, (FCWS) are really necessary as it's just, from what I can tell a Beep or double beep. I turned them off but maybe somebody else has a need for them. The mount, shape of the unit, and omission of a display is well thought out for low profile mounting. Not in my field of view AT ALL. NICE! Android App works wonderfully. Not sure on Apple haven't tested it.Only constructive criticism would be to Thinkware is that the USB and power connectors, while they are well concealed on the unit they can be difficult to remove. Perhaps a pull tab to remove it would be an improvement.
