TIP: It is a great idea to walk you pet along the border of a fully extended tie out cable, several times if necessary. This allows the pet to become more familiar with the tie outs' boundaries and recognize the tension (much like a leash). This helps to prevent the pet from bolting on a tie out and causing harm to the trachea.

Would be better without the rust
It is a nice product that has worked well for me and my dog, but the reason it lost a star is because of how rusty it got already. I have only been using it for a month or so, and when it isn't being used it is not left out in the yard, and the leash clamp and part where the cord attaches to the ground screw are both rusted up.

Safe and easy to use
Purchased to secure my dogs while we were out camping. The 16 inch stale tie out held both dogs securely. The tie out came with one lead. I bought an additional one for the second dog. There was plenty of room to allow them modest amount of freedom. Screwed into the dirt secret without a problem. Both my dogs weigh less than 15 pounds each and this worked perfectly !

Great Tie Out
Love the stake tie out. Only complaint I have is that the hook ends rusted when I left it outside. Kind of disappointed in that and hope it doesn't affect the strength of the rope. Easy to put into the ground with the plastic head, and it stays when he tries to go further.

Not really for your smaller dogs.
Bought this for my little dog. It was meant to help keep him in the yard , but he isnt exactly a huge dog! he is a whole 8lbs and i think this thing weighs WAY more than he does. It keeps him anchored in one place and looks silly or smaller dogs. hahaOtherwise, this product would be best for your larger furry friends.

Red handle spins
The handle on top spins when you try to screw this into the ground, which makes this really pointless. We're going to have to doctor this up a bit to continue to use it. Our dog is 25 lbs and wasn't able to pull this out of the ground at all so it served its purpose, but it's a pain to deal with when the handle just spins around. Bad design.

Nice for the price
This tie was easy to stake. It took less than a minute from package to having it grounded. It is super handy for me when I pet sit and want to give the dogs a break from one another, or when I want to feed one separately. It gives 30 feet, which wasn't as much distance as I imagined when purchasing. Next time, I would go longer. The cord is strong and heavy and I am sure no dog could chew through it.

The product is sturdy and so is the cable
My dog loves this, she can play in the yard and we don't have to fear her running into the street. Plus she helps me do my workouts. The product is sturdy and so is the cable. It doesn't tangle and the stake was easy to drive into the ground. We absolutely love it.

Works perfect for our open yard. We live on a peninsula with canal on three sides of our property. Lucy my dog doesn't mind the chain cause she can still be outside and near her dog house. It is easy to put in the ground. I'm female and installed it myself. The cable is a good length and she doesn't get tangled up. Thanks solved my problem!
