It's easy to use but the job in general is quite fiddly and the wire holders don't do a great job of keeping the right wire in the right place.

So the good bits first. The testers works fine, and the cable stripper works quite well but you have to be careful for it not to nick the conductors. The crimper itself is pretty hopeless. There is the basic issue that this is for old fashioned non pass through crimping, where you have to trim the cable and push them through a guide piece then push this into the RJ45 socket and and then crimp. With the benefit of hindsight I would have purchased a pass through crimper which allows you to push all the cables through he RJ45 socket, check they are OK and then crimp. With this tool I have had no success at all; 7 out of 8 pins is the best I have achieved. I guess it may be down to me but I can do most technical tasks after a couple of tries and it is now consistently failing to terminate, pins 6 and 7, so I suspect the crimping head is flawed. Anyway I have given it up as a bad job and purchased a more expensive pass through crimper. I can't even return it as I have worked through half the packet of the supplied RJ45s. Sigh!So in summary my advice is buy a pass through crimper possibly a rather more expensive one. If I get a moment I will update this to report how I get on with the pass through crimper. Just to update this I purchased a pass through crimper and my success rate has gone from o% to 100%.The crimper I purchased was VCE GJ670BL RJ45 Crimp Tool, Pass Through.So the learning points are i) get a pass through crimper in the first place and ii) buy the RJ45 plugs separately so you can return the tool if it doesn't work out for you.

Good buy, brilliant for DIYers. I needed to get 3 ethernet cables through a hole in the door, I cut the RJ45 clips off as they were too big to get through the hole, I then fed through the cables and reattached new RJ45 clips with this tool. Very easy to use and multifunctional.

Returning to office full time after covid meant we had to sort office desks. Trying to work out which LAN network cables were operational was a nightmare as they’d become a big rats nest of wire. Plugging them into the back of a laptop and watching if they flashed was the previous method. Took too much time and guesswork and wasn’t always accurate. The device is this pack meant we could quickly identify which lead was which by plugging both ends into the testers. We could quickly see which lead needed to be plugged in and try and remove the dead cables. Also many of the cables worked but the little plastic clip that secured them into the wall socket or docking station had snapped off. The tools and crimps included meant we could quickly replace the RJ plastic connector and fit a little plastic sleeve to prevent the clip snapping in future. Great kit for the price and helped clean up our networking brilliantly.
