Leg Avenue Women's Mini Top Hat With Veil

The whole hat is a glitter black, and the birdcage veil removes - it is attached with velcro. So you can leave it on or off. As others have stated the bottom of the hat is flat - and it is attached with an elastic band. Which is not very comfortable and looks a bit silly. I plan to remedy this by removing the elastic and hot gluing the bottom of the hat to a headband instead. The hat is very light so this should work perfect. Just needed the hat for a photobooth prop, but it is cute - I would love to find a way to wear it in the future for some sort of Halloween costume maybe. It would also work great to add your own embellishments to; feathers, jewels, colored ribbon, bows, etc. And I would say it is pretty true to size to the photo shown.

The strap was so tight and uncomfortable I couldnt keep it on for more than 20 seconds. Luckily, it is removable. I ended up feeding a regular black headband through it and wore it that way instead. Much better! I also liked that the net part is removable if you dont want to wear it. Was the perfect accessory to help make my burlesque costume complete!

My plan was to be a sexy Ringmaster/Lion Tamer for Halloween this year, so I was elated when I found this cute top hat here on Amazon. Unfortunately, my costume plan fell through when the boots I planned to wear with the costume ended up not fitting :-/But when I got this in the mail, my face and heart just lit up! It's so cute I couldn't help but feel giddy and excited every time I put it on! Having this cute top hat helped me improvise into being a cute Magician for Halloween - just added a white-button down and a fitted black pencil skirt with a bow on the back :-)Hurricane Sandy just passed, and I work at a hotel, where a lot of evacuees and people seeking power and food came to for refuge. Many of the guests forgot it was even Halloween, dealing with everything from the storm, but so many guests were reminded of the holiday and smiled once they saw my cute glittery top hat :-)This is definitely one of my favorite purchases of all time - simply because it makes my heart smile whenever I have it on, and what it has positively done for those negatively affected by Hurricane Sandy that I came to my job.Thanks Leg Avenue! xoxo

Picture of black version is not at all what arrived when I ordered the white "top hat." It is not really a hat, but a wedge of styrofoam on a flat white styrofoam disk. You have to balance it on top of your head and hold it on with a bright white elastic. It is not a "hat" at all, in that there is no hollow for it to sit on your head, just has to perch flat on top and balance. Looks stupid.In addition, the picture of the black hat has a cute curved rim... the product that arrived at my door has a completely flat thick disc for a rim with a ridiculous sequin edging.I ordered 5 of these for a costume party next week, but will spend my weekend trying to find something locally for our group so we can send these awful things back.

I purchased this item to go with a "lion tamer/ringmaster" costume for this past Halloween. In the picture it looks great, in person....it looks a little cheaply made (but will do the job for one night). The one thing that I really did not like about it is that it can only be worn via an elastic string that goes around your chin. I would have perfered the option of it having hair clips attached so that you can wear it without the elastic. It was a little hard to put it on w/ a wig. But overall this was a decent value for the price paid.

This was an accessory to a halloween costume for a sort of Dark Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts. The hat is very cute and the dark veil is such a perfect touch. Very important: It comes in a hat box and arrived in good shape. With some hats, once they are bent out of shape it's nearly impossible to get them back. Only slight complaint would be the vail was bent upwards in the box, but it wasn't difficult to bend it back and it was unnoticeable when wearing the hat with the complete outfit. I recommend it to complete your next costume.

I needed this hat for a dance recital and searched high and low for the exact look I was looking for. This was reasonably priced compared to other sites. Great quality with a detachable bird cage and an adjustable black chin strap, which is a bit snug. Also the brim of the hat doesn't look like the picture, mine is flat, no big deal though.Now I have to figure out how to keep the hat from wobbling on top of her head.Great for a costume, challenging for a dance recital.

Love this hat! I bought it for a Halloween costume (circus roustabout) and it was exactly what I was looking for. It's perfect for any sort of circus/Moulin Rouge costume. The only thing I would say is that I attended a costume ball with it on, and it ended up being a little tall for doing turns and such. But if that's not a problem for you then no worries. The head strap is easily adjustable and you can wear is on the side of your head or on the top, up to you, the elastic is very strong.Definitely recommend this product!
