Failed in First Use
Simply poorly made. Imported into Aus from the US so return a pain.

Not remotely theft-proof, not even theft-deterrent, pretty much a waste of $
I bought one of these locks a couple years ago to secure my SUP board, which was in a bag, on a storage rack in my building. I got a second board, although without a bag, and so bought a second lock. I had noticed that the Jaws Lock with my first lock, when clipped around my leash plug, wasn't that tight and could be popped off in less than ten seconds with little effort. I assumed maybe that lock was loosening up from extensive use. Regardless, I needed a second lock for my second board. Upon receipt, the Jaws Lock for that one was no tighter than the first one despite being brand new. Less than two months later, somebody had popped the new Jaws Lock and stolen my board. Read the advertising print. It's clearly worded in such a way that these locks are little more than weak theft deterrents at best. All the manufacturer says is "Donβt make it easy for thieves to steal your surfboard or paddle board while you are away." In other words, if your board has one of these locks and a board next to yours doesn't, a thief may be more likely to steal the other board. However, any thief who is familiar with these locks will know that they can be popped open with minimal pressure in less than ten seconds. If there was a way to upload a short video clip here, you could see exactly what I'm talking about. These locks are a great idea in theory, and I'm not aware of a better solution, but the Jaws Lock should be really tight when clamped down on the leash plug and instead has way too much "play" or "wiggle room" to serve any true theft deterrent purpose. Basically a waste of $50, unless you store your board in a bag and are able to fit the end of the lock through both zipper handles too, making it that much more difficult for a thief to pop the Jaws Lock off your leash plug, at which point it's a decent theft-deterrent and nothing more.

EXACTLY what we needed.
This set is exactly what we needed-- we bought two of them. We paddle every morning over to a coffee shop on the other side of the harbor. It can be difficult to lock a paddleboard-- we've tried the lasso locks and other solutions, but nothing really worked for us. Either the board wouldn't feel secure or it would take forever to get it locked and/or unlocked. I found this and read all the reviews and thought it might be perfect, and it IS! I can lock my board so quickly-- we can lock a few boards together, and because one end is so small, we can easily thread it through a dock cleat or through a kayak. Highly recommended!!

Perfect! My hubby and I paddle board every weekend ...
Perfect! My hubby and I paddle board every weekend and wanted a lock to secure our boards while we grab lunch after paddling. I bought this combo set along with an extra dockslock for a leash plug. After a morning of paddling, we connect the cable to the 2 dockslock. Boards are secured to our truck. Now we don't worry about someone stealing our $1000 boards. Is it a little pricey? Maybe. But the cost outweighs the thought of replacing $2000 worth of boards. Easy to install. Easy to set the lock code. Ease of mind. Great product!

easy to take on and off
I own several and have used the product for about one year. It is well made, easy to take on and off, fits into the leash plugs on several kids of boards and SUPs, and has never caused damage to boards. To prevent scratches, I take great care to avoid touching a board with the metal end of the coil, the only part that is not covered with soft plastic. Boards are often stolen from garages, so mine are tethered to structural 2x4s in an unfinished garage. Obviously, if someone really wants to steal a board, they will find a way to cut through this. However, this product gives me some peace of mind; an impulsive or less-prepared thief will simply move on to an unsecured board. After paying thousands of dollars for boards, why not spend a few bucks and a little time to use a theft deterrent? Highly recommended.
