Walk on the Wild Side by Christine Warren
I keep coming back to this book. I love books about feline shifters. Wolves I can kind of take or leave...but for some reason I like the feline shifters.Walk on the Wild Side is the story of Kitty Sugarman who, in her mid-20's, has just found out that she is a Leo (a lion shifter). She's always been told that her father died shortly after she was conceived (and was human). Now, she finds out he is living in Las Vegas...and he is the head of the local Leo pride. So, at her grandfather's urging, Kitty takes a trip to meet her father so that she can learn more about how to be a good Leo. She is met at the airport by a mugger and her father's second in command, Max. She and Max are immediately drawn to each other and he helps Kitty navigate through Las Vegas and the politics of the pride. This is one of the many books Christine Warren has written about the Others - although this one is a stand alone volume and doesn't contain characters from the other books in the Others series. I felt that it was an enjoyable book - a quick read that I have read many times. While I enjoy the book, Kitty's relatives grate on me, but in a fashion that brings out the reality the author is likely trying to portray - that just because they are Other doesn't mean they aren't subject to basic human emotions (such as greed). On the whole I liked Kitty and Max, but there were parts that bothered me a bit. Max could be a bit too domineering for me. Yes, I know this is part of the whole "alpha male" thing, but there were a few times that I didn't think it was portrayed well. He just kind of overrode Kitty whenever it suited him. Kitty started out fairly independent, although scared (since she just discovered she turned into a large feline). I was kind of disappointed that she didn't really seem to grow much as a person. I thought she could have been a better developed character, she seemed a bit too...soft.That being said, I still love this book. I wish that the characters were a little better, but even as they are I read the book fairly frequently (I'm big on re-reading books). If you enjoy paranormal/fantasy romance (and alpha male characters) then I suggest you give this book a try.

A good shapeshifter "Others" story.
Christine Warren started writing about the "Others" for Ellora's Cave as a download online book. They became popular and now she is found everywhere and it couldn't happen to a better author. Her creation of a hidden group of creatures such as demons, vampires, werewolf's, fairies, witches, etc is both romantic as well as steamy hot.For centuries the "Others" have kept their existence a secret but recently have through secret talks with the government made themselves known to the public. In this story "Kitty" and I kid you not that is her name finds out she is a lion shapeshifter other due to the DNA her long gone father left behind. Her father contacts her about the same time she finds out about her furry side and makes arrangements to go meet him in Las Vegas to tell him off and to find out more about being a shapeshifter. Such as how do you shift back? Keep from hurting your loved ones? etc.Her Father turns out to be the dying Alpha head of the Las Vegas Red Rock Pack. His heir is a hot lion shapeshifter who takes Kitty under his wing as well as under his body. They are destined to be mates but someone is trying to kill her and he has to find out who.A steamy good read. I look forward to her next installment in the series.

Attempted to Kill!
Kitty Sugarman didn’t know that she was a Shifter until her mother & her were in a car accident & she turned into a lioness in order to escape the vehicle & drag her mother free too. Then she found out that her biological father didn’t die in a car accident like she was told but actually lived in Las Vegas & she decided to go see him to learn about her new ability.Max Stuart is Martin Lowe’s right hand man & was waiting at the airport for Kitty’s plane to arrive as unbeknownst to Kitty her biological father was dying. When Max finally saw Kitty it was in her human form but her lioness one as someone had just come into the ladies room & attempt to knock her head in & kill her. But, Max was instantly attracted to her & that is how they met. This story was very good; had lots of attempts on Kitty’s life & at the end of the book you find out who & why. That’s all that I’m writing as you should read the book for yourself as I said above it was a very good book.

This book does not really go with the set
This book does not really relate to the "others" like some of the "other" books have. It is still one of my favorite books. I'm collecting all the "other" books as they come out since they are being re-released in book form from a kindle form. They are supposed to be a little different and better. I don't have a kindle ,but I want to buy a Sony E-reader soon. I have run out of room for books.I will continue to collect the special ones, but back to the book Kat is so cute. She is so lovable and down to earth and honestly just wants help going through her change. The family wants her DEAD no surprise there. That's because she'll get something when her father dies. As you guessed he has a new family never knowing about her. Then the new leader of the pack takes her as his wife. The whole book is such a feel good book except the part when her mother dies as well as her father and all she has left is her grandparents. She had to be terrified when she first turned into a cat. It is definitely worth the read. You will want to read it more than once. I've only read it twice ,but I always buy so many books that there's not enough time in the day lol.

Lions are hot!
I read this book just a few days ago and have all ready re-read the book!Whilst I won't go into the whole explanation since there are so many on here, I will say that I was originally put off when one reviewer mentioned a spanking thing... not really my thing. But, I read it anyway and found that while he threatens to spank her after he's just saved her life, it never actually happens...There was a few things I didn't like, one being the 'I forgive you' moment that she with her dad after hearing that the main reason he didn't get her was because he didn't want to ruin his place as Felix and also the first sex scene. A little too realistic for a paranormal romance if you ask me and was something I could have done without. While I appreciate the fact that she was being honest about what would happens, it kind of took you out of the moment.Another thing that is a personal critique of mine is that she likes to use the F*** word while talking about them having sex. It's not something I have always found the most flattering of things and it puts me off for a second. What confused me was the whole mating thing. In Born To Be Wild, Eli, a lion, is aware that Josie is his mate, but she changes the rules in this story and says that it's about the females cycle when it wasn't in Eli and Josies story. I didn't mind the fact that it wasn't an instant recognition, but it did annoy me that she changed the basic rules of the mating.Other than those couple of things, I enjoyed the book. It was funny and romantic and Max is just the guy you'd want to mate with.Kitty (yep, that's her name) is funny! She is never afraid to push back at Max. There were some truly heart warming scenes where you realised why this couple were perfect for each other.

out of all her books in the series this is my favourite. its book 5 i think ... unfortunately when i went to her website this was described as boook 1 so i read it first before the others. thought it was really good, hence the not so great reviews of the others. long story short. girl finally meets dad she is a shape shifter, tiger. dads best right hand man meets her they have sparkling chemistry dad dies he takes over pride she joins him others want to kill her. wasnt excellent but the best in the entire series. good desciptions, nice action, some coupling scenes, couldve been more descriptive. lal in all good read.
