Unexpected Industry Use of This Product
I bought this product a while back to use on my partially detached toenail that I got in a skiing injury in 2K17. Occasionally I have to clean out debris such as lint that builds in over time from wearing sox. It works great for this purpose. Now, an interesting twist:I work for a company that does factory service and repair on generators large and small. Our homeowner models are in a plastic case. When I occasionally run into a problem with a crack in the case or a bolt stuck in a brass anchor I use epoxy to mend the crack or to glue the anchor back in. I use hard epoxy and it has to be mixed well. It only takes a small quantity but I have found that trying to apply it with a small screwdriver can be messy. The flat tool in this set that has a bent tip is perfect for this job. It allows you to pick up the epoxy and deposit it where needed. Once the epoxy is placed, the bottom side of the bent tip does a fine job of spreading it where needed. I used to sometimes make a bit of a mess using a screwdriver but with this tool I can do what I call professional craftsmanship. After finishing, the tool cleans up with a wipe of a paper towel. It is not an intended purpose but it works very well for me doing this - so well that I bought two sets. One for the service van and one for the workshop.

Quality Set
Good quality and sturdy file and nail lifter tool set. Plenty of serrated surface gives good grip on the tools. My previous set was too short and hard for me to get a good grip and control over the file and lifter.

Your suffering can end here.
My husband gets some gnarly ingrown toenails. He’s had to have two surgically removed on the same toe, so I finally broke down and started looking for something to alleviate his problem. These two tools have been an enormous help. Based on experience, I recommend using these when fresh out of the shower or hot bath. Your toenail is more pliable at that time. The tools themselves are well made. They fit well in the hand and the metal feels sturdy. They do not bend easily. I would put these on quality par with the metal tools you can buy at Sephora for pimple removal. They have a good grip and are free of metal shavings/gouges.Since we started using these on his feet every two weeks or so, he hasn’t had a single problem. As time goes on, we use the pry bar less and the serrated/file tool more. We file the offending edge down and as long as it is maintained, he has no problems. The plastic sheath it comes with is helpful in maintaining the integrity of the tool edges.

Quality tools
Quality tools that help. Seemed cheap that the directions were emailed to me and I had to print them out and fold them. Printed directions should have been included with product.

exceeded expectations
I recently became unemployed and lost my health insurance. shortly after losing my insurance, I started to get an ingrown toenail and it got worse by the day until I could barely walk. I was sure I needed to see a doctor. I bought this product and it worked - completely solved the problem. It was a bit painful to dig the toenail out of where it was embedded but at least I was in control of how much pain I put myself in. The seller even took the time to e-mail me the instructions - a pdf file on 1 sheet of paper which did not come with the product. But this kit is not very high tech so I figured out how to use it without instruction. One good tip I wished I knew was to soak your feet 10-20 minutes in warm water

Your Toes Will Thank You
Nobody wants to talk about ingrown toenails unless you have ingrown toenails. If you are looking at these tools, then you most likely know that ingrown toesnails are extremely painful. If you are trying to take care of them at home then these tools are a must. They are both made a surgical steel and come seal in a plastic case that you can keep for storing the tools. The lifter is great as it allows the nail to be popped up to be trimmed. If you have ever used a nail file or other instrument to lift your nail stop. This tool is the way to go. The file is also good quality but I find it not as useful as the lifter. The file is coarse and can be used to remove some dead skin around the nail. The file seems to work best using it in only one direction. If you have are looking at these tool buy them. Your feet will not be disappointed.

All that's needed for lifting & filing an ingrown toenail
Unlike many so-called kits for ingrown toenails, this set of 2 tools are not dental picks, and only have what you need (You may also want a sharp, pointed clipper and some iodine). It amazes me that some kits have 8 or more tools. I applied iodine for a few days until the pain was reduced enough so I could manipulate the nail. With this set of two tools I was able to lift and file the underneath portion of the nail that was digging into my skin. I think I could have just used the one tool with the files and done without the other. Then I used a very sharp and pointed Japanese nail clipper to remove the offending part.

I really do like this set of toenail files but was disappointed that it did not include any instructions. The material is great and very strong but I had to look elsewhere on how to use the file.
