Blue Painter's Tape is a multi-use tape featuring a specially formulated, medium tack adhesive. This works for textured and semi-rough surfaces which gives the tape the tackiness it needs to adhere to your surface but still allows for clean removal for up to 21 days. If not overheated, your surface will be damage free and clear of residue. Blue masking tape is also UV resistant, so it can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. Please NOTE: Surfaces must be clean, dust free, and dry before application. While the surface of the tape is moisture resistant the adhesive is definitely not. The adhesive is pressure sensitive and heat activated. Make sure you really press it firmly into place when applying and get it as warm as possible in the room to secure the adhesive. The dryer and warmer the installations are, the better the adhesive will attach. REMOVE ASAP! The adhesive in painters tape is known as semi-permanent removable. If you leave it on for over a month then you will have great difficulty removing it. It will tear and leave residue behind."Black Core" tape is Manufactured in the USA by the worlds largest tape mills who must liquidate Over Runs & Mill Ends. High speed milling machines create "over run" rolls (too large) or "mill ends" (too small) for retail sizes. Exclusive distributors now offer limited amounts of over-size and under-size rolls at a tremendous discount to the public.Black Core explained: Manufacturer has blacked out the original printing inside their core with rubber based non-toxic ink which is totally safe and does not come off easily. However, wear work gloves or disposables if you plan on handling these rolls for an extended period.Other uses: Crafts & Hobbies, Toy making, Scrapbooking, Home Inspections, Bundling light items, Yard Sales for pricing, Marking stains on clothing for dry cleaners, the possibilities are endless!!!

Generic "Blue" Painters Tape for About 50% Less - Give It A Try
This is represented as equivalent to branded "blue" Painter's tape. Blue tape, compared to regular "manila" masking tape is less tacky, so it can be removed without leaving adhesive on the surface.Several comments-- Tape comes with "use" limitations" posted on a sticker - see photo - including applying pressure to tape to eliminate paint edge bleed through. There's also a photo of the SKU label.-- The product description says "Made in the USA" -- but there is no country of origin labeling - see photo of inside which would have country of origin.SUMMARY: for about 1/2 the price of branded (3M), it's worth a try. I tend to use Blue tape as an expensive "general purpose" tape, beyond painting, like edge tape for caulking, template paper to mark holes for drilling dry wall (attaching cabinets, TV mounts, etc.) when another tape may be better. It's worth a try since this unmarked brand is about 50% less.In reply to other reviews, the seller (3rd Venue) posted the following which is good general advice. This tape comes off the roll a little smoother (which the pros love because it doesn't do the "unwanted diagonal tear off" when pulling too fast) but it sticks very well. All tape is pressure sensitive, it's true stickiness is not measured as it comes off the roll, but how it responds to removal after pressure is applied. This tape is within the proper specifications for the application, and sticks very well when pressed into place. (we do all kinds of tests before we commit) You would have to run your fingers or a soft rubber roller over tape after application or they will not fully adhere - this is true with all brands of all tapes. (Would you try taping a cardboard box in the cold or using duct tape outdoors in the winter and not pressing it into place?)But it cannot be the same color - 3M has apparently trademarked their Blue Color, so the only tape which can legally be that same color is 3M brand. If you want to save tons of money on a really good tape, this is the one. If you are going to worry about how this tape which costs half as much as 3M, but isn't exactly the same thing......{scratching head}_____Bleeding only happens on Textured surfaces and will happen with any Brand. To solve this problem you need to paint over the tape with a brush or small roller AFTER you install it using the exact color that is underneath the tape and let it dry a couple hours. This will "seal off" that edge perfectly so when you apply the final color on top you won't get anything running underneath the tape between the texture bumps. You have to remove it very slowly and carefully (pull the tape by angling slightly away from the top coat) within a few hours after the top coat and you will have a perfectly straight line every time! Learned this trick from a professional painter. Different paints have different cure times, so you will need to experiment with this to get the right timing down pat. Please remember that different surfaces require different tapes, and blue painters tape is not for everything. If you are using a roller or brush above a horizontal surface, it is super critical you use the right tape and really {PRESS} into place. Pros use a soft rubber roller to crush the tape into the texture bumps so it does not run which may allow you avoid this pre-paint step (depending on the type of texture). For really thick textures you will have to use a tape with caulk on the back side to fill in the valleys between bumps or clear caulk the edge and wipe it off to plug the holes.Blue painters tape was around a long time before folks got so fancy with their paint jobs. Green, Orange, & Yellow have been invented since then for different surfaces and applications such as cabinets, rough surfaces, etc...

This tape is very versatile.
I originally bought this tape to hold the corners of drawings down while I worked on them, but I use it for a multitude of things. I use it to hold trash liners tightly in the can; to make my window A/C unite less drafty; to hold my checks onto a form so I can print them on my computer.I bought my first set of three two years ago. When I received the new set, I couldn't believe the first set was ever that large. I had to look it up to verify they were the same product. Slowly using them over the last two years I had completely forgotten how large the rolls started out.Unfortunately, I can't say how well the tape works for it's intended purpose. I use it for everything except painting.

Tape makes you look like less of an amateur bowler
This tape was blue. It stuck to my projects. There were three rolls. I would not recommend using them as bangles. I tried and it made my life more tedious. I’m not a painter, but nobody called the police on me for being a poser and using this tape. I’d say it’s a safe product to experiment with. Like say you’re thinking you might be into painting, but you don’t make your living that way and you want to see about trying to paint something anyway... this tape would probably help with that. Nobody would see how bad your craftsmanship really is bc the tape is basically like those shameful bumpers in bowling. Good luck my friends. Use with slight caution, the tape is mildly sticky.

More Fun than a Barrel of Monkeys
I bought this, originally, to take data on during my therapy sessions. When working with kids, sometimes its hard to carry a clipboard and painters tape is a really great solution to the having to be ready to move anywhere @ anytime problem. However, the kids I worked with, love the tape. I use it as rewards, as things to go put on mom, as ways to fix legos, as a powerful freeze shield that doesn't allow matter to pass through (keep certain doors/rooms off limits), and as tape. All in all, the tape has paid for itself and I'll be ordering more.

Works for painting
This works well like other blue painters tape. It doesn't have a lot of sticky so it won't pull off the paint but you may need to press a little extra to make it stick. At a little over 4 bucks a roll it's competitive.

I love this tape because it works but it is bad ...
I did my research on painters tape via Zlappy.com prior to this purchase. I love this tape because it works but it is bad for other side projects where I am needing painters tape.

Good tape, came off easily
I just finished up a painting project using this product. It turned out great! I am so glad I didn't have to be so careful about not getting paint on other attached surfaces,
