Bitter Tasting
I purchased this to get away from the seed oils used in the national brand I normally buy. This fit the bill so tried it. It does not taste good. It's bitter and slightly burnt in flavor. I threw out what didn't get used in the casserole I made. I do not recommend this product.

These are Shallots
Called fried red onions. Not onions. Main ingredient listed is shallots. I don't know if the manufacturer knows that red onions and shallots are very different. Not the same food. Do not taste the same. Shallots are mild and somewhere between onion and garlic. Red onions are sharp and peppery. They taste fine as shallots. Disappointing when onions were desired. Not as crunchy as another brand of onions I got. Wouldn't have paid for it if I'd known it wasn't onion. Will search for another brand.
