Shop-Vac 9068500 2.5 Inch to 1.25 Inch Conversion Unit, Durable Plastic Design for Adapting Hose Sizes, (1-Pack)

I got this as a replacement for my Ridgid 4 gallon because it was WAY cheaper. The measurements seemed the same so I thought why not?! Well, it is a PERFECT fit and actually has a better design. My factory ridgid adapter cracked on the flat edge of the adapter, and this one has reinforced edges which makes it more durable.

I bought a grinding shroud and amazon suggested this adapter for my shop vac. It fits the shop vac great but does not fit onto the shroud or the adapter that came with the shroud. It should not have been suggested with the product (the shroud) by amazon.

This is 2 7/16" NOT 2 1/2". It is a very loose fit into my Dewalt table saw. I still have to use duct tape to secure it in place, but other than 3D printing my own (I don't know how) I don't know of a better solution.

This adapter will make a smaller hose fit with the bigger hose and attachments. Made of hard plastic just like the attachments. I like this because I upgraded to the larger hose and I can still use the smaller attachments if I want. I can also use the old small hose to extend it even further off the bigger hose.I have had no troubles with this.

It's hard to give a rating on a product that doesn't fit. It's sold as a 2-1/2" to 1-1/4" adapter. Detailed measurements of ID and OD at each end would have solved the problem. I was trying to adapt my 1-1/4" Shop Vac hose to the exit port of a Ryobi Table Saw. The table saw has a 2-1/2" OD and 2-1/4" ID exhaust port. This adapter is 2-1/2" OD, so it butted against the exhaust port, instead of either sliding over it or into it. Ditto with the small end of the adapter -- it's 1-1/4" OD and butted against the end of my 1-1/4" OD Shop Vac hose. A no go either way. It's a good price, but I'm not sure what, if anything, this adapter fits. I ended up buying a Rockler 2-1/4" OD adapter to 1-1/4", the large end slides into the exhaust port and the small end slides over the 1-1/4" hose end. Please stop posting reviews that are bad because you don't know how to use this. It is simply meant to connect a 2 &1/2" hose to a 1&1/4 " hose. It does this just fine. It's not meant to hook into your tool port. It's not made of rubber as some have said. It's not any cheaper plastic than what your shop vac already has on it. The 1&1/4" side is meant to attach a 1&1/4" HOSE to it and then attach your accessories to that hose. If used in this manner it does exactly what it is suppose to do perfectly. Think before you trash everything on your reviews cause it often times reflects upon your intelligence more than the quality of the product

I don't normally leave reviews, but the incredibly poor quality of this product led me to warn others. The smaller end of this reducer cracked all the way down after less than a month of intermittent use so that it no longer holds tight in 1.25 inch fittings. It was used to attach my shop vacuum to a random orbital sander and to my Kreg Jig K5. This may be a problem with all plastic adapters, but I will definitely look elsewhere for a replacement!In the first couple of weeks, before it broke, the fit was great and it worked well. I just can't buy a new one every few weeks.
