It was big enough for my mini rex bunny to lay on. It's not a good solution as a mat in the habitat. It's more of a toy and bedding in one.

Q: Can this straw mat be reused?

Some animals shred them to pieces so they can’t be reused though my bunny pulls them apart, I bundle it back up and tie a natural string around it that way I can get a little more use out of it.

Q: Will this work for feral cat shelters? Is it purely straw? Straw is typically recommended for bedding but not hay so I want to make sure. Thanks!

Hay use usually for eating, and will get soggy and moldy from moisture, so no, better to use straw instead. These hay mats are woven so by noes can eat them as well as sit on them. So for cats I think actual straw is a better option
