Great knife for the money
Wanted to try out the CTS xhp blade for as little money as possible. Lots of praise online for this cold steel model. I'm really liking this design for its handle shape. It's very comfortable in the hand for me due to the small distance between spine and the side where the groove is for the folded blade. I know a lot of CS knives are touted for their "thinness" like the Code4. That's great for pocket carry. BUT if you want comfort in the hand you also gotta look for the spine to groove distance.Triad locks up with a resounding "clack" and takes a good amount of pressure to get it to unlock, which I like.Been putting the CTS XHP through its paces. The dlc coating is more akin to gun bluing rather than the painted look of previous CS offerings. It's very smooth and holds up so far. I've used it to block out some 7/8oz leather, broke down boxes and lifted some staples with no shiny spots on the edge or the DLC. Very happy.Only big negative I have is the awful pocket clip. No it's not too tight, rather the clip is just a short S-shaped peice of metal. This results in the poor clipping ability of this rather long handled knife. Forget about using thick fabric pantaloons. The clip will not allow enough of it in for a stable slip-on. I had considered tooling a leather sheath for this knife, but had an epiphany of sorts. Why don't I use a better clip from one of my existing CS folders? So I did. I took a clip from my previous gen Voyager and mounted it on the Broken Skull. Only two screws can be used, but I am infinitely more happy with the knife now. This mod also adds a small lanyard hole if you're interested in that type of thing.UPDATE 8/10/16Had this knife for a while and bit of an update. Not a fault of the knife. Stepped on the knife while it was closed when it fell on the ground. Felt a bit of a crunch, but just dusted it off, looked okay. When I got home the blade was opening up a bit different. I took a look inside and saw that the metal stop pin that holds the blade away from yhe handle when the knife is closed had sheared right through the G10 on one side.disassembled the knife and sure nuff the pin sheared through the thin G10 handles. I took the pin and threw it away as I knew it didn't really affect the blade opening and knife function. Still works good, just that the lockup is now much more sticky when disengaging. Still a good knife.

My husband actually approves of this one
After ordering a couple of the pretty-pretty mermaid knives and pieces falling off before even taking them out of the package, I started googling "pink knives". I had bookmarked this one but was afraid to mention it to my husband because of the cost. When he asked to see, his eyes lit up with it being Cold Steel. He read the reviews, and was happy with it and told me to go ahead.I am not a knife person. I can't even use Butcher Knives or Santokus in the kitchen because I am scared of them. The Broken Skull one is perfect for me. Even though it is wicked sharp, I can still handle it efficiently and I love the grip on it. And it's pink (which cost about $30 more than a non-pink one).Very happy with my purchase. Now if we can just find the right hex key to remove the stupid belt clip I'll be all set.

A Lady’s Edge
I’ve been a long time customer of Cold Steel. I have a clip point Voyager XL that I have for EDC, and my wife has wanted an EDC of her own for a while now. The Broken Skull by Cold Steel is a bit smaller and fits her hands better than a Voyager would, and (huge plus where my wife is concerned) it comes in pink. If only it came in teal blue with rose gold hardware, lol.
