Reviewed a lot of different Pressure Filters, and this one worked out the best for me!
I ordered the Pondmaster Clearguard 5000 (with the UV light) instead of other pressure filters for a few reasons. I initially was looking at the Aquascape models, and really liked that they were primarily bio-balls and not filter pads, making for easy cleaning/backwash. Unfortunately, there were many reviews about the fragility of the system. I also noticed that most of the pressure filters I was looking at (sub $500) focused on using barbed fittings for kink-free piping, which I was not using in my setup. None of these pressure filters came with glue-in pvc fittings, which I found very frustrating as I would have to find adapters and such to make it work with my piping. That is when I stumbled across the Danner pressure filter. Not only did it primarily used bio-balls (it has a filter pad that you use for a few weeks when you first start it up), the mechanism to switch between filter and flush seemed very robust, had great online videos detailing every aspect of the filter, and it included glue in adapters for PVC piping!Setting it up was very simple, though I have to warn you, if you are using flexible PVC piping, you may have a hard time getting it too fit into the included glue-in adapters as some flexible PVC pipes are a bit larger than normal schedule 40 PVC rigid pipes. The UV light setup is simple, and as a bonus, the filter includes a spot for a second UV light setup if you need more.I am very happy with this filter, and I think it is the best band for the buck filter out there.

Works good, BUT could have been a 5 star
Filter would have been a five start if the supplied barbed fitting were sized correctly. Could not find any hose to fit the slightly oversized diameter fittings. Had to buy other barbs that were PVC slip fit and glued to slip fittings supplied with filter. This delayed install by several days.Installed this on the 4500-5000 gal pond that was always cloudy, except in spring right after ice was gone. The pump I attached was a 3600 GPH and is set toward opposite end of bog/waterfall. This filter and pump running 24/7 cleared up the pond in 5-6 weeks. Does take to time for "biologics" to get built up on filter balls. Water hyacinth, lettuce and other plant in bog growing better than ever before. These plants also filter very fine particulate, not sure how it would do being only filter. I do have pump/skimmer also that feeds to bog, but only on 1 hr /day. Pond has never been as clear. Get a higher flow pump if you intend to install this in the ground. I have to shake the canister on backwash to get it to flush out fully. Gauge does not gets above 1-2 psi after even 2 weeks.

Water clear as can be
only negative...if you use a 2" line from your pump, it will drastically reduce the water coming out the other end. I was going to use it to feed my waterfall, but it doesn't put out enough flow. But....my pond is perfectly clear.

Best bang for the buck
I have a 650 gallon cattle water tank for a pond. Bought this filter system as my pond was as green as a forest. In a matter of just 4 days the pond was crystal clear. It has maintained that status and now algae only grows on the walls of the pond. The filter has only been back-washed 3 times since I bought it, and the last 2 times have been due to overfill due to rain. The first time was required due to all the removal of debris. I am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. Glad I did not go with one of the cheaper systems that have such horror stories. This thing ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

It works great!
I (woman) installed this filter for our 2000 gallon pond and was a little skeptical about the result mainly because it is a lot smaller size than the previous filter we used for the pond but it really did a job! So far, I am very pleased with the performance of this filter. Previously we hired a pond professional to installed a pond filter 7 years ago and costed us about 4 times more.It took about a week to see the result so be patience! I would buy it again!

So clear
Cleared up our pond in two days, and it’s stayed crystal clear since. It’s a miracle. And for those of you who, like me, read reviews but not the product description - this does not need to go in the pond. That was a major revelation.

Outstanding support
I had some difficulty with the connections and the manufacturers support was outstanding, very professional!!!With this in place my pond cleared up in just a couple of days, better than it's been in years.

Remove the bio balls and foam and fill it with polyester quilt batting and it works excellent
4 days running in a 4500 gallon pond and the water still looks cloudy. It definitely needs a better foam filter and or charcoal. I removed the bio ball's and the foam then stuffed it with polyester quilt batting and it works great.
