Unknown coloring dyeing on hand
We returned it as soon as we found unknown coloring at sword handle dyeing on kids hand, its difficult to wash out and not sure if this paint is kids safe or not.

The perfect sword for a little guy. Also it has a shield.
The sword from this set is perfect, and surprisingly durable. My toddler has wacked every inanimate object in my house with it dozens of times each, and it has held its form and shape. He also chews on it all the time, and it's held up through that. The dog and cat are not so enthusiastic, but there are new rules in place that protect their safety. For the most part. While we're looking at least. The shield kinda sucks. Not the shield part, which is fine (and made a surprisingly durable frisbee-style long range weapon), but the handle. The snaps are heavy, but still insufficient for the task of holding the handle on, so it falls off constantly. It also gives a floppy shield experience that makes it awkward to run around with, and useless for the kind of brandishing a toddler really wants. We tossed the handle after 2 days, and the shield after 2 weeks. That sword though. That thing is the perfect size and is damn near indestructible. If he ever manages to destroy it I'm definitely buying this set again. We'll give the shield to a kid we don't like.

Great toy for children’s make-believe play
I have 4yr old twins, and they were attempting to play at being knights. I needed something safe but more durable than just cardboard. These are soft, safe, and the handle on the back of the shield is attached by plastic snaps, and pops off and on easily. If your children still occasionally put things in their mouth or bite things, as children are wont to do, they can bite through the foam without much effort. However, I do not consider this to be in any way a flaw in the product, but instead a good showing of the safety of the sword due to the softness of the foam. The blade is about the same consistency as a pool noodle. They have held up relatively well over about two months of use. I consider them to be a good value; I hate when I buy something designed for children to play with and it almost instantly falls apart. That was not the case with these toys, and I’m very happy with the purchase.

turned into shield from Zelda
my daughter wanted a Zelda party, so I bought this and turned it into Link's shield and sword. it was a great success, I wouldn't buy this for anyone over the age of 7 ( its smaller than expected ) but its pretty durable for pretend dueling. :)

Short lived.
It was out 13 month olds favorite. He took it everywhere. It lasted about a week before he started biting the ‘blade’. Which is easily ripped apart and can be a choking hazard.
