I've purchased four or five boxes at different times and I have experienced some broken cones like others have mentioned. The worst box I've received still had 18 out of 25 intact. That may seem frustrating but honestly, the fact that I can just click click on amazon and get them fast cancels out some of the loss. Not ideal, but not terrible. I've had some boxes with one or two broken.They're manufactured in pairs to mitigate potential breaks. If you're careful you can snap them apart with few in any casualties. I believes I've broken ONE tip after separating 100. You really have to be mindful of applying equal, even pressure across the entire seam.

These work as intended for ceramic firing accuracy/testing in kilns.

Accurate, reliable cones for measuring heat gain in kilns. Orton is the only brand I use. I recommend these.

I am a Potter and use these pyrometric cones on a regular basis. The product was as ordered, excellent condition, no complaints.
