Quality and freshness are obvious
I've not met a whole nutmeg I didn't like, and this is no different. I could tell right away these were very fresh, and the bag is resealable. The color is dark and rich, not the dry and pale of cheaper ones. I leave some whole for fresh use, and I grate others for convenience, but even grated it smells rich and fresh. This window is prompting me to comment on this product's "effectiveness"; okay...this nutmeg is VERY EFFECTIVE at lending nutmeg flavor to dishes and drinks. How's that? And "versatility"...? I guess that's up to the cook, yes? But I'm very happy with this and will order it again (if I ever run out!)

Nothing better than fresh
These will last me year's! so, I will share them with my friends. Fresh nutmeg tastes so much better than old, ground nutmeg. I have a grater instrument, or you can just use a part of your cheese grater to grate. I use it for Alfredo, quiche, and many other dishes that call for it. It has an underlying taste, that makes every thing taste better. It's the secret ingredient that people can't figure out. It doesn't take much, so one nutmeg can literally last you 6 years. And hey! if nothing else, enjoy it in a fresh Pina Colada!!!!! Yum!
