Great bones with good meat...
Like the feasts of giant frog our rather questionable 'heroes' so often settle down to after a quest, this is high quality fare... if a little bit tough to chew.As an 'experienced' gamer, my biggest personal gripe is the font size for some of the text - it's roughly the size of Aqua's attention span and as diaphanous as her raiment. It has made me realize that it may be time to admit reading glasses are in order. With that fairly minor gripe out of the way, the book itself is consistent with what I've seen of JTRPG - a light novel sized book with pulp-type pages - with artwork that's beautifully in line with the style of the LNs, manga and anime. The opening act is a rather extensive "Let's Play" staring a veritable who's who of Isekai-genre authors and does an excellent job of taking you through a session. Next comes character creation, with a strong focus on quick-start character builds to help get you going with the least amount of fiddling for a playable character. This moves on into the 'made from scratch' character building rules, which showcase the complete list of classes and associated skills.Yes, Explosion is a skill.Yes, it can do a LOT of damage. Then we get the 'cheats.' This is where the real fun begins. Each is based on one of the major characters' major faults. That's right: the cheats are your biggest weakness, and they will take good roleplaying to work right. That's a compensatory measure, because they can make your character SUPER OP if you play your cards right. Now Explosion does all the damage - seriously, like more dice than Shadowrun. The last section of the book contains a short primer on quest creation and a selection of pre-genetated hooks, and a modest bestiary. For my $16.00 preorder cost, I can't really think of more games that have put as much bang for the buck on my table ('White Lies' would be one). This is something I can't wait to get a campaign going in.

Fun small rpg
While the rpg rules aren’t anything too out of the ordinary, the combination of classic pen and paper rpg with a hit anime world in a quirky setting is very good. The art is very good too.

Great system, confusing organization, and mediocre translation
This system seems great from a mechanical standpoint. However, as many other customers have said, the character creation section of the book is very strangely organized. You’ll be flipping across the book more often than Kazuma has to save his teammates. Additionally, there are some major errors in the book, several of which are the result of mistranslation. The original Japanese version supposedly only has PCs make Death Checks at the end of Combat (can’t confirm since I don’t know Japanese), whereas the translation says to make them at the end of each round. This makes a lot more sense, as otherwise the Priest’s Resurrection skill and the Life Saving Skill aren’t very useful, a PC with the Return By Death cheat would have little reason to use it when they get knocked out, and the Cheat Pursit of Power essentially becomes “Add 5d6 to a spell’s roll, drop to 0 HP, then make a Death Check at the end of the round to see if you get right back up or just die.”Also, the book never makes it clear that Class Ability Modifiers go directly to your Ability Modifier rather than your Base Ability Score, which makes a big difference since that means it’s more impactful on the Checks you make, but doesn’t affect stats based on Base Ability Scores, such as HP, MP, and Carrying Capacity at all.It also doesn’t make it clear that Carrying Capacity is divided into 3 completely separate catagories: Weapons, Armor + Accessory, and Possesions. The CC for Weapons is equal to your Base Strength, as is the CC for Armor + Accesories, and the CC for Possessions is Base Strength + the bonus from Carrying Skill, Belt Pouch, and/or Backpack, if you have them. These categories do not have a shared limit. This is why the total weight of Weapons, Armor+Accessory, and Possessions combined that the some of the sample characters are carrying is greater than their Base Strength.Edit: Fixed minor spelling and grammatical mistakes.

Konosuba!!
This a fantastic series and I was very happy that they made a TTRPG out of it. I also purchased the Goblin Slayer TTRPG.I would love to see more Manga series made into TTRPGS. It’s a great way to share our favorite Manga and Anime with friends in an interactive environment.
