Cheaper but just as good
It is slightly taller than the official filter, but even without being able to lock it into place, still provided just as good quality air cleaning as the original. The extra height means you have to push it into place which pretty much provides the seal without using the mechanism.Happy customer here about to purchase the second filter!

Works but some differences
This is a much cheaper part than the original. It certainly does the job. One difference however is either fit (slightly too big) or rigidity. Compared to the original part when you clamp it into the machine it buckles slightly and the ridges warp slightly in shape.

It's too big
Managed to for in machine. It only lasted 5 months better to pay a bit more for genuine parts.

Great alternative
This is a great alternative to the more expensive branded option. As others have said it is slightly larger than the original but it still fits. I just didn't force the lever all the way to the right. It seems to perform just as good as the original but at a lower cost per unit.

The SPARES2GO filter does not correctly replace the Vax original.
The filter element is 5mm higher/longer than the Vax original, not much but enough to prevent the filter from fitting inside the filter housing. A lever at the base of the machine pushes the filter up to effect an air seal against the fan. Because the filter is too long the lever crushes the filter damaging the fabric element and the lever will not fully engage. In the third picture the lever is half engaged so you can see the fabric would be ruined by full engagement. A poor copy of the original, if the filter body is defective then I assume the fabric used in manufacture is also substandard. What a lot of unneccesary work.

Took a chance and it paid off!
We've been choking on builders' dust, so we dug out our Vax machines and found they needed new filters. We'll probably go through a few filters and £50 a pop adds up so we took a chance on this. The difference it made to the air was immediately obvious - we've stopped coughing - and it was a tough test! We'll be buying these again.

Excellent value
I bought this replacement filter for my air purifier. It fitted fine, absolutely no problem with it. And much cheaper than the branded filter. Will buy again.
